Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to formally announce in a "virtual" way on May 24 that he is running for president, as donors and fundraisers gather in Miami to make calls and fundraise for his campaign, according to three sources familiar with the planning.

BREAKING: Ron DeSantis to launch presidential campaign May 24, sources say https://t.co/lgjPa5UmZM— CBS News (@CBSNews) May 18, 2023

I’ve heard it’s been delayed 1 week.
Hey, is that Jed Boosh back there?
Just an observation but he’s a bit too ambitious and doing too much (politically) too fast.
Traveling from country to country instead of making sure the Republican won the mayor’s race in Jacksonville.
He’s enough of a lightning pole as it is and the past few weeks have shown perhaps he should wait for 2028.
Yes. Clappin’ ¡Jeb!
A “virtual” campaign candidacy announcement? What does that look like? Not good. Sure not a grand entrance coming down a golden escalator.
Gee Ron, make sure you try to upstage Trump and throw cold water on MAGA. You want to make sure you give Karl Rove and the Bush and Cheney family’s plenty of value for their money.
Oh, and you do know Ron, this makes you anti-Trump and pro big govt, right?
“Prease crap”

We’ll written analysis, including this…
“… ultimately, why, when given the choice between a generational political talent in Donald Trump, and a cheap knockoff in Ron DeSantis, would voters choose the latter? The only reason people pay to see Elvis impersonators or Beatles tribute bands is because the real acts are no longer available. Fortunately, in our times, Donald Trump is still a viable option – and, arguably, this time around, he is stronger and better on every front: from messaging, to platform, to overall strategy.
Yep, that's Jethro right behind Ronald Herbert Walker DeSantis.
This apparent incipient campaign by DeSantis is foolish in the extreme, cannot succeed, and could result in wrecking everything for Republicans in 2024. It appears to be driven by hubris stoked by the usual RINO consultants and donors. At the very least, DeSantis is throwing away a previously sterling reputation for nothing.
This is just the latest step in a long-running battle between the political and financial backers of the Republican Party and its grassroots voters. Ron DeSantis is a solution to problems that most voters don’t even have, and he’s being peddled as some kind of populist when he isn’t remotely close to one. In this regard, he’s just the latest in a long line of GOP establishment @ssholes — from the Bush clan to the Cheneys to the McCain family misfits to Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.
No, thanks. I’ll write in Ronald McDonald’s name before I get behind one of those losers.
👍🤣👍
Haha it is Ol Yeb!! Loserfest!! Stay out the Bushes!!
He’s getting terrible advice.
DeSantis could finish his term, continuing to make Florida by far the best-governed state in the Union, an acclaimed and unbeatable candidate for 2008. Why mess up his entire career by taking on a popular, wronged Republican candidate whom millions of Americans believe speaks for them and deserves a second term?
He’s getting terrible, terrible advice.
Terrible.
