'Ron’s magic is GONE!' Former President Donald Trump is weighing in on the Jacksonville mayoral race, which saw a Democrat win just months after Republicans carried the state handily.
On Truth Social, Trump said Republican Daniel Davis’ “shocker” loss to Democrat Donna Deegan came down to Team Davis courting Ron DeSantis’ endorsement instead of that of the former President.
“In a big upset, the DeSanctimonious backed Republican candidate for Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida, LOST. This is a shocker. If they would have asked me to Endorse, he would have won, easily. Too proud to do so,” Trump said.
“Fools! This is a BIG LOSS for the Republican Party,” Trump added. “Remember, ‘Rob’ only won because of me!!!”
In a follow-up post, Trump doubled down.
“Ron’s magic is GONE! He also lost, shockingly, in Jacksonville last night (Mayor).”
DeSantis endorsed Davis after the First Election in March, which saw Davis rebuff three other Republican candidates to emerge into the General Election with roughly a quarter of the vote, 15 points behind first-place Deegan.
Jacksonville has a voter registration advantage for Democrats, with 40% of the electorate registered Democrat and just 35% Republican, according to the most recent L2 voter data. But Republicans, as typically happens in local elections, won the turnout battle Tuesday, with a 7,100-vote advantage translating to an R+3.25 map.
Yet despite the GOP turnout advantage, it was clear that crossover Republicans and no-party voters turned out for Deegan, with the DeSantis endorsement apparently not being a factor to unify the party. Word was that the DeSantis endorsement was contingent on Davis not chasing Trump’s backing, in yet another sign of Republicans being compelled to pick sides.
DeSantis offered paper endorsements, but never came to Jacksonville to help the candidates he backed. Nor did he offer a robocall or other material support.
Davis wasn’t the only DeSantis-endorsed loser Tuesday.
Property Appraiser candidate Jason Fischer touted his DeSantis endorsement ahead of the March election, which gave him a ticket to the May runoff. But he lost to Democrat Joyce Morgan.
OK. I see you hate RDS. Great. But all the vitriol you posted just proves my point.
Trump, as usual, makes poor personal choices on who he supports.
And he had the most deplorable personnel choices when he was president. Why do you want to return to a Swamp Administration again?
The Trump DeSantis civil was will ensure that Dems won’t even have to cheat this time.
Quote: “if you live anywhere near Jacksonville and saw how the Republicans ran in the primary, it was shameful, at the end you would have thought each one was a child molester and serial killer, all this PAC money was paying for ads savaging each other.”
Yup, but it is silly season so everyone has to seize on every loss or win to further their own agenda.
Trump should be laying his head down at night in the White House...
But stolen elections have consequences..
So do coups
kemp and raffensperger were complicit with the dems and election fraud, and allowed the left to get 2 senate seats, in return for getting rid of Trump.
(and by a large margin!)
As opposed to what? The Republican party choices when they supported and elected an open borders globalist for 8 years? Bush is what brought us Obama.
Let's weigh up the bad choices and see where the real bad choices came from. Deal?
Donald, you have a terrible governor. Vote for the Democrat if DeSantis runs for Florida governor again.
Get a mirror.. dummy embarrassing 🙈
But no explaination of why you want desantis, who lies, is part of the swampy GOPe, and appears willing to do anything, including illegal acts, to be president.
With desantis as president, how would you ever know he was telling the truth?
This is what Trump does. All mouth. If his endorsement is so good, then why did most of his candidates in the 2020 election lose?
Educate yourself as to what goes on with these Mark Levin aduio bursts.
In GA, the problem was Mitch McConnell the first two times: the first two were his candiates. They were McConnell’s choices, his picks. It had nothing to do with Trump:

Then the third was Mitch’s poor performance. He is a poor leader:

You cannot deflect my question. Trump was throwing spitballs way early into this game and got this whole stupid "Trump vs. DeSantis' crapshow rolling. Which the leftmedia has been happy to capitalize on, by the way. Why is Donald Trump giving so much ammunition to the enemy? I really wish he'd stop. Actually, I really wish he hadn't had the election stolen from him in 2020, but here we are.
Anyway, silly-name calling is not analagous to one guy supporting one person and another supporting another -- two different things. Hurling unproductive, divisive insults is not comparable to policy preferences.
So again I ask: How does Trump constantly calling a fellow Republican childish names like "DeSanctimonious" unifies the party.
I think everyone here knows the answer already.
We need Trump and DeSantis... these two fighting is nuts.
Loyalty’s a two way street...
Yeah, Donald didn’t like the GOP nominee, so he actively campaigned against him. That’s what I mean by “you cost us Georgia.” But for Donald’s childish temper tantrum, Republicans would’ve been in control of Congress.
All of this malarkey stems from the fact that DeSantis’ lines of attack against Trump are very limited. To really go after Trump he will burn ANY support from MAGA as he sets landmines off that will destroy him. If the whole primary campaign revolves around “who can win, who is the winner” we can all go to sleep and wait for the inevitability of a Trump candidacy.
Now Jacksonville has a Democrat mayor
+1
So why didn't Trump endorse the guy??
I might add, being from Iowa the whole outcome of DeSantis foray last week besides “winning” was that Trump called off his rally because nobody was going to show up.
He’s going nowhere on either issue.
I’m actually for Trump. I’d have no problems if he wins.
I’d also have no problems if he shuts his fat mouth, quits making junior high remarks on “DeSanctiminous”, quits focusing on the steal instead of 2024, and focus on improving his performance in 2024.
But if Trump fails to improve and if the Deep State does succeed in keeping him from being the GOP nominee, then who?
Nikki? Pence? Hutchinson?
You only Trumpers are very short sighted. RDS is the only second best option we have. Quit kicking him to the curb and quit putting all your eggs in one basket.
