The California Legislature is proposing a program to provide unemployment benefits to illegal immigrants coming to and residing in the state.

Senate Bill 277 by State Senator Maria Elena Durazo (D-Los Angeles) proposes income assistance to unemployed “excluded workers” who are not eligible for regular state or federal unemployment insurance benefits due to their immigration status.

The Senate Committee on Labor bill analysis explains that SB 277 Prohibits the EDD, in administering the program, from taking any of the following actions:

Requesting, orally or in writing, an individual’s nationality, place of birth, or eligibility or ineligibility for a social security number

. Compelling or requesting an individual to admit in writing whether they have proof of lawful presence in the United States.

Contacting an individual’s current, former, or prospective employer for any purpose, including to verify employment status. However, does not prohibit the department from using other means to verify past employment.

Recording an individual’s immigration or citizenship status.

What could go wrong? Anyhow the State of California has lots of money to handout.

For statists/leftists in California, money isn’t real. They’ve always had enough for their thousands of social-engineering schemes.

Which California handout is worse? Billions for illegals? Or Billions in reparations?

Choices, choices....

If you were a US citizen, and never worked a day in your life in the US, you wouldn’t qualify for unemployment benefits. But if you are an illegal intruder that broke the laws of this country by invading our land, you are bestowed money. Go figure.

Yep. The state has $800 billion to hand out to blacks for reparations - in a state that was never a slave state and explicitly forbade slavery in its constitution.

What is fleeing the state are productive taxpayers and businesses - what is moving in have 1/2 the salaries as those leaving. IOW, Newsom has personally driven out his own tax base - that he saw as a piggybank for his lefty schemes.

What’s an old, hard-line Commie like Newsom to do when the money inevitably runs out - and the feds say “enough” and refuse to print up any more $$ to send to broke, blue states?

Stick out his term and then move to Montana where he visits when things get tough in California, he has family and (most likely) a home.

Invitation for illegals and blacks to move to California and for others to move out.

California unemployment compensation now applies to unemployment ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be compensated for doing nothing.”

All the world’s freeloaders will know where to be huddled now.

Receiving California “Gubmint Money” is now an international right.

Hope that a California US citizen that loses his job to an illegal alien can get unemployment benefits.

Either way, they’re bankrupt, and we’ll be paying to bail them out. Other leftist states will follow CA’s example, in due time.

Call this largesse being distributed to the illegal immigrants what it is, a dole, and do NOT take funds allocated to the state unemployment benefits. Sell back all that high-priced real estate purchased for right-of-way for the imaginary “bullet train”, and use THOSE funds to butter up and coddle the illegal immigrants, and send all the black descendants of American South slavery back to where they are most needed, in Chicago and New York City, to combat the MS-13 gangs that will be taking down the black gang members of those two cities.

Of course, this, along with reparations, will be paid not by Californians, but ultimately paid for, via federal bailouts, by all U.S. taxpayers.

How about we convince Californians to secede from the union, start their own country and we’ll redirect the illegal aliens to their new sanctuary country???

Great! Just another nail in the coffin for the California Dreamers. They are one more step closer to self annihilation and that suits me just fine. Hope it is slow and excruciating for the progressives who put this son of satan in office. May he choke on his lying, whining, subversive plan to destroy this country. He is without any conscience and a total reprobate.

THE source of unemployment funds == companies that hire employees.

The percentage charged is based on layoffs/turnover in a company’s payroll.

When I was doing Calif payrolls-—the top rate was 5.4 % of the gross payroll. That was some time ago.

SINCE the FUNDS COME FROM COMPANIES THAT ARE HIRING & PAYING OUT PAYROLLS—THIS is ANOTHER slap in the face to Calif employers.

With my strongest words: LEAVE CALIF & SET UP YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

EVEN a SURFBOARD company can set up a company in another state.

This is EFFIN madness!! Why don’t you just give California back to the effin third World countries, specially Mexico! Mark my words you’re going to have a complete chaotic influx of Californians moving to red states and in the long run they’ll convert those red states to blue states. Don’t think one minute the locust are escaping that horrific state to get relief. They’ll get it in red states then they get dissatisfied and don’t like the candidates and continue voting for their leftist communist POS candidates. This country is in a world of hurt. We might as well just close shop and play dead.

Employers are saddled with unemployment insurance. That is the primary source of funding for "unemployment" derived from terminating an employee. The illegals have never been employees of any business. They have never provided any productive labor for an employer to fund unemployment insurance for them. It is beyond stupid to be offering "unemployment" payments to those who have never worked.
