Biden trip to Japan won’t be interrupted by debt talks as deadline looms: White House

President Biden will leave as planned to Japan on Wednesday, despite questions swirling around whether he might postpone a weeklong international trip given the crunch time lawmakers and the White House are facing to come up with a deal to avoid a debt default.
“We are still planning to leave, as scheduled, on Wednesday,” national security spokesman John Kirby told reporters on Monday. “He still expects to be able to make that trip so we’re all planning on departing on Wednesday, as scheduled.”

Japan is a cool country but they would be even cooler to disinvite him. A polite excuse like "America is our major customer and we would like to reschedule our visit so you can deal with your responsibilities" would be a nice gesture.

My sources tell me Biden asked to meet with Emperor Hirohito, for the sole purpose of giving him “the Corn Pop treatment” over Pearl Harbor.
Everyone in the White House is afraid to tell Biden that Hirohito is dead. So I’m guessing that Biden will end up assaulting some random old Japanese guy.
