NBC “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd said Sunday on “Today” that he believed former President Donald Trump has “convinced” his supporters they have not been losing elections.
Host Willy Geist said, “Chuck, good morning. It’s good to see you. So, former President Trump had that town hall meeting in New Hampshire this week that was broadcast on CNN, alarmed a lot of people in the country, not least of which, a lot of members of the Republican Party, who say if that’s what we’re putting out there, if that’s what we’re gonna run with, we’re not gonna win independence. We’re likely not gonna win the general election. We can debate whether or not that’s true. But Ron DeSantis sees an opening. We saw some outlines. I think the key there from Monica was indirect criticism of former President Trump. So if he does indeed get in, what will be his strategy to go at Donald Trump?”

They didn’t need to convince me.
I’ve paid attention to the past numbers of presidential elections.
All but the last three followed the same patterns
2012
2016
2020
Were all different
Todd and DeSantis, both in unison this weekend, are saying that there was no steal and that Trump legitimately lost in 2020.
Not true, Chuck. Trump supporters know better than most, just how badly the country has been losing since the squatter in chief took office.
Being CHEATED is not the same as losing:-)
This nation has been losing the day Biden took office. But there are things that are “up” thanks to Biden.
Crime is up.
Food and fuel prices are up.
Illegals entering the country are up, way up.
Drug use and drug overdoses are up thanks to the open border.
Good ‘ol Upchuck Todd and a nod to the Maha Rushie who loved to make fun of this dipstick.
Can you please post the direct quote where Desantis said that? Not a paraphrase or your interpretation, but the actual words? Because I haven’t seen that yet.
There is a difference between “LOSING” & STOLEN”.

"If we make the 2024 election a referendum on Joe Biden and his failures, and if we provide a positive alternative for the future of this country, Republicans will win across the board," DeSantis said. "If we do not do that, if we get distracted, if we focus the election on the past or on other side issues, then I think the Democrats are going to beat us again, and I think it will be very difficult to recover from that defeat."
Basically... we have lost in recent years not because of any steal but because of this MAGA culture that has infected our party. Don't get distracted by this MAGA culture that says the election was stolen.
Yes, Todd and DeSantis, both.
I asked for a direct quote from Desantis saying there was no steal and that Biden was elected legitimately. Then you gave me a different quote and applied your own interpretation to it. So I take that to mean you have no actual quote to support your assertion. Just wanted to make that clear.
What "culture of losing that has infected our party in recent years" is DeSantis talking about?
Is our culture really a culture of "losing", or is it a culture of winning in 2016 and 2020 that was foiled by a Democrat culture of stealing?
Words mean things. DeSantis' words imply the former.
Culture of losing - maybe he was talking about 2018, 2020, 2022…. Even leaving the presidential race out of the mix, 2020 was a losing cycle for the GOP. So that means the last three election cycles, the GOP has been losing, and especially Trump backed candidates. That could be interpreted as a culture of losing.
A basic assumption that many if not most “MAGA” people will support no one but Trump and the RINO republicans choose to live in denial of changing election dynamics means R.D. is toast before he starts.
Chuck Todd never was any good at propaganda he has to take what ever job that comes along.
Another one of the party’s puppets.
