You have what? 2 % of New Yorkers now taking the subway... People are afraid again to go out in NY.
OK, maybe the marine over reacted, but it seems to me, erring on the side of the marine in this case, would put would be criminals on notice.
I don’t know what the charges are.
I think that makes a difference to me. If the marine is being charge with murder, then I would agree with DeSantis and anyone supporting the marine....
But, if it’s for a lessor charge, then I think we need to look at the facts of the situation.
Interesting two others, assisted the marine.
One count of second-degree manslaughter, whatever that means. As per the NY Post today.
Huh?
If you believe that the marine killed Neely in self-defense then it should not matter what means he used.
I think the marine’s response was excessive, but I don’t know the marine’s mind set.
Did he not think that what he was doing might kill the guy? WAS that his intent? I doubt it, but then again I don’t know.
15 minutes is a long time. The police say they were there in 6 minutes.
What are the facts?
Have you seen Contact Fights? A well positioned choke, results in the opponent rendered unconscious in seconds. The referee then jumps in to stop things.
Neely goes limp in the marine’s arms. Why did he continue to apply the choke?
Why didn’t the two guys around him, try to get him to “let go of Neely?” Clearly, they must have been threatened also.
I think Desantis is a stupid politician, he jumped into this without getting all the facts....when he didn’t need to,
But being that he’s not his own man, but a product of other thinkers, he put his finger in the wind, gauged that majority of opinion is with the marine, and against Bragg, he decided to make a statement.
I don’t know what Trump thinks, but I will predict that his response, is more measured and more presidential ie of a leader.
What am I saying? You have about 50% of Americans probably on either side of this situation....if you running for the president of ALL THE PEOPLE, why would you weigh in on the side of just 50%...If I were Desantis, I would have gone all out against Bragg, and said we need to look at the facts before we condemn the marine.
Did the grand jury decide on this, or did Bragg? I think it was Bragg alone.
Hmmm. That sounds like they’re saying he killed the guy intentionally?
“So why are there so many Trump-hate posts all over this thread? 🤔”
It’s to balance out all the hate-DeSantis posts on Free Republic
Provide irrefutable evidence, or just stop wasting my time.
I am always thrilled to meet anarcho-tyranny fanbois like you.
I am looking forward to you coming face-to-face with a Jordan Neely ASAP so you can show us how it should be done.
I don’t think it means that.
I’m certainly starting to dislike a lot of his fans. They seem trollish. Not all, but a lot of them do.
There was no grand jury. Some people think there should have been one. There’s a column in the NY Post by Bob McManus about it today.
But I’ve heard NYC people say that the grand juries in NY are not the best judge, that they “rule against everyone.” Also, they are confidential, and in this case I think it’s better for everyone to know what’s happening.
“Brilliant campaign move.
I bet Trump wishes he had thought of that.”
Trump missed the opportunity this time, but it’s not too late for him to raise some money to help Disney with their legal woes.
Better then what trumps done for the guy which is nothing as usual.
?
That’s exactly what it comes down to. The way most Freepers have weighed in on this story, you’d think the guy was running through the subway car using a flamethrower on everything in his path.
The one eyewitness I’ve seen quoted by name in a media report about the incident described Jordan’s actions as “somewhat aggressive speech.” That doesn’t tell the full story, but it also doesn’t sound particularly ominous.
You will note that Brown wasn’t killed by the storekeeper who called the police on him. He was killed by the cop who responded to the scene after Brown tried to wrestle his gun away from him.
Yup.
I agree with your second paragraph 100%. Perhaps DeSantis does too. Let’s find out. Challenges don’t intimidate me. I actually think the argument can be very helpful. But people don’t think about 2028 and beyond. Trump can only be there 4 years. We need to have people to take his place after 2028. That will be difficult when the Dems can use Trumps very words in 2028 campaign commercials
It’s up to about $1.25m
