New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) has dropped his opposition to legalizing marijuana in the state, putting forward a pathway for a legalization bill to be approved.
In a Medium post Friday, Sununu said that he felt other states “rushed to legalize marijuana” with “little guardrails,” leading to the turning of “the culture and fabric of their state,” and that, “in the past, I said now is not the time to legalize marijuana.”
But with New Hampshire being “the only state in New England” not to allow recreational marijuana use — and with a majority of its citizens supporting legalization — Sununu believes “change is inevitable.”

Marijuana legalization is sweeping the country.
He’s getting out there to push this as his constituents apparently want it. When the legislature passes the bill, he will say he’s responding to the will of the people.

Which he will be.

UNEMPLOYABLE ADULTS that are clogging the EBT rolls.
what a turkey
In a completely neutral way, I think it’s worth pointing out that every New England state has legalized cannabis except New Hampshire, the “live free or die” state. We just live in ironic times.
The Cartels paid off Sunuunu to change his vote.
Take Idaho's license plates - they say 'Famous Potatoes.' Then there's New Hampshire - their license plates say 'Live Free ... or DIE!!' I don't know, I think that somewhere between 'Famous Potatoes' and 'Live Free or Die' the truth lies. And I think it's closer to 'Famous Potatoes.' -- George Carlin
“Marijuana legalization is sweeping the country.”
Just 20 years ago society agreed that smoking tobacco was a gateway to health problems.
Does marijuana cigarettes have tar and nicotine?
Any studies indicating smoking marijuana can cause physical and mental health issues?
Lots of libertarians moved there the last few years as part of the Free State Project.
I don't think they care. Legalization has come with high enough fees and taxes that there is plenty of room for a thriving black market to exist side by side with the legalized market for the price sensitive stoner segment.
I call it "quasi-legalization."
There's some similarities to the alcohol situation, where the legal product costs many times the production cost, but its cheap enough anyway.
It may be legal in individual states but I don’t think the federal government has legalized it. If merchant marine seamen or officers test positive for it, they can lose their credentials I believe.
I bet that’s true, since marijuana is still restricted under federal law.
With marijuana, and perhaps some other drugs, we see the federal government and some states having different laws on the subject.
Who could be shocked that any leftist POS like SuNewNew would need drugs?
Anti-weed people really need to get a life and allow folks to toke if they wish.
“Marijuana legalization is sweeping the country”
Soon, everywhere will be a work-free drug place.
Every place I’ve seen it legalized though has been a disaster. It might be what people want, but it’s not a good thing for our country. It’s far worse than alcohol although the stoners will howl when you say that. Everywhere I’ve been where they’ve legalized it and pot smokers congregate has turned into a seedy armpit pretty much overnight.
Yeah, let’s make the voters even more stupid.

I am an 8th generation Vermonter, now a refugee in NH.
I don't smoke pot or anything else, can't stand the stench.
But I know a LOT of repubs, liberts, etc., who do.
A lot of good hard workers who want to smoke a little pot sometimes.
The politicians should not be making them criminals.
Pot should be sold in the NH booze stores and ensure that it isn't laced with horrid things.
I cannot believe the attitudes of many freepers toward out fellow citizens regarding freedom.
What ever happened to small and limited government?
Sounds like he has so easy been paid quite a bit.
