Alex Mercouris describes the situation in Bakhmut
Apparently there are still a couple of thousand ukies holed up in one little corner of Bakhmut in basements and hide holes of verious sorts. Mercouris claims that the order has gone out to those unfortunates that their "job" is to prevent Bakhmut falling prior to May 10; that is, their job is to prevent Russians from celebrating the capture of the place on or prior to VE day, which is a big annual celebratiion in Russia.
Whoever issued that order plainly does not give a rat's ass about the lives of country 404's soldiers.
Russians have been using Bakhmut as bait in much the way that farm kids will put a big piece of cheese in the middle of a barn floor and then sit there on the edge of the loft with shotguns and shoot the mice and rats that pour in...
actually it has been the other way around - the Ukrainians used Bakhmut as bait.
Yeah. Because flooding scores of thousands into a kill box month after month just to be wiped out again and again by Russian artillery somehow traps the Russians.
Sure.
The hohoshills on the forum believe they have some sort of a license to lie, kind of like James Bond and his license to kill people...

There is plenty of killing going on in both sides. Which is why this blood fest needs to end.
The war will end—all wars do. The Europeans are sick of it and even gung ho Poland is starting to crack. Without Europe the Russian vs Nato-USA is not going to happen. “AS FDR said “Falla Doesn’t want war,” This is good news as the year of Politics is looming and with it possible Civil War, Depression, Social destruction and mass death.
Jeez, doncha know that winning is getting a town leveled and loosing thousands of men by getting themselves encircled is what victory looks like..... that’s the way the Germans beat the crap out of the Russians at Kursk and Stalingrad......... they really hurt the Russians by getting entire divisions encircled, killed and captured.... all the way back to when the Germans won the battle for Berlin.... you remember?
The German strategy was to let the Russian army rape, plunder and destroy everything from Russia west to Berlin and get most of their women raped, cities destroyed and men slaughtered.
The Ukrainians are “learning from history”.
