had a cheap external cell phone battery charger on a plane before the seats had usb ports on them to charge phones. Heated up hot to touch and had that burning battery smell. People around me started alerting the attendents. i showed them the charger. I thought we were going to turn the plane around. The attendant calmly took it, wrapped it an inflatable vest and put in the trash. She said they were just trained on what to do. No harm done, everyone went on with their lives
