Oklahoma's governor has defended his decision to defund his state's PBS affiliate over children's programs he deemed inappropriate - including a drag queen reading a story to children.

Such prudes.
GOOD FOR HIM
Great idea. PBS fans can catch the same stuff on one of the kids’ channels.
This is how it’s done. Way to go, Gov. Stitt.
Excellent Decision - Let’s quit indoctrinating OUR kids!
Oklahoma is leading. Abbott, where are you??
YUGE. Bigly. There are other governors who could so this, let’s get on it. Chop chop.
Other states also do not directly fund PBS. These include: Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington.
If Congressional Republicans were serious people ,they would not allocate one dollar of funding for PBS or NPR. Why would you fund something that wants to destroy you?
OK, drag has been around for ever. But like its cousin burlesque it was always considered a somewhat questionable form of adult entertainment. Would anyone claim that a book entitled ‘The Hips on the Stripper Go Swish, Swish, Swish’ was appropriate fare for kids?
Rule#1. Leave the kids alone!
Stitt is a good Governor. The Tribal leaders don’t like him, but the Tribal members do. The school teachers despise him. What’s not to like.
Why don’t these drag queens offer to read to people in hospitals, nursing it nursing homes? We know the reason why but we need to start asking this question….
I won’t miss it if it goes away.
Good decision.
.
Feel free to see what they’re pushing.

All of this would be so easy to deal with if we had folks with ballz
Come on Greg, do it.
I’ve discovered many great British dramas...and comedies...thanks to PBS. But government funding is despicable.
For $7 per month Britbox has scads of shows. The last couple of Masterpiece Theatres on have been pretty underwhelming. Plus more and more gay subplots.
