Comrade Putin is going to blow up the plant, making sure that if he can't have it, then nobody else will either.

The Ukrainian mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, posted these pictures on Saturday evening of the "mad" five-hour queues to leave the evacuated area.

It’s about the nuclear power plant. Both the nascent Fourth Reich and the resurgent Russian Empire want it intact.

That’s a good way of putting it.

Russia evacuates the civilian population to keep them from harm. The Ukraine hides amongst them and uses them as human shields. Quite a contrast.

Perhaps he plans to use a radioactive dead zone as a buffer to protect Crimea and his left flank in the Donbas.
I remember seeing news a couple weeks ago about the US supplying the Ukrainians with radiation sensors. There was the normal speculation about tactical nuclear weapons, but I think Russian plans to blow up the reactors is more likely.
Since we seem to have evidence previously that the Russian have had their plans compromised the the West, advanced warning about something like this seems possible.
Russia can always blame and incident on the Ukrainians. They might not convince most of the West, but people who want to believe them can always do so.

Putin is being set up again - he didn’t blow the Nord STream pipeline either. But hey, that’s never stopped NATO, the UN, America etc. Putin is winning and even if he hadn’t been winning, blowing up the plant would not benefit him. Why do you people come up with such stupid excuses?

I think you’re a stinking liar. Ukraine is being attacked at home that’s where its citizens live.
Russia is a bunch of slob slavs who have devastated all the countries around them.

I agree....Russia's been evacuating people out of areas since the onset. And Russia's been the one who has secured the Power Plant and assisted the Nuclear inspectors when they went there. In he past Ukrainians have shot at the power plant and had to be stopped....but as usual everything Ukraine does wrong blames Russia for doing.
Zelensky of course tried to get Nato to step in spouting Nuclear explosion. My disdain for Zelensky is off the scale really - and has been since before this conflict.

Ukraine can't win in any of this but they have and will certainly continue to make all the bad stuff look like it's all Russia....when most of the time Zelensky and his hoard are creating the events.

When did Ukraine say they wanted to take Moscow? And if Ukraine is doing so poorly why are the Russians evacuating? Their counteroffensive is a joke or so we have been told here...

Here’s an evening update....
Russian air attacks has gone on for several hours, especially bad has attacks on Chasiv Yar been with missiles, bombs and artillery. Directly when the bombings in Chasiv Yar ended one hour ago Wagner forces in Bakhmut launched a large offensive on all fronts.
