King Charles III and Queen Camilla are crowned in elaborate ceremony

King Charles III and Camilla, the queen consort, were officially crowned king and queen during a coronation ceremony Saturday at Westminster Abbey, the first coronation there since that of Charles' mother, Queen Elizabeth II, back in 1953.

Massive crowds lined the royals' route to and from the ceremony over the course of several hours.

Charles and Camilla began their procession toward the coronation from Buckingham Palace through Central London in a golden carriage led by eight horses.

About 200 members of the British military were mounted on horses as part of the procession, largely drawn from what's known as the Household Cavalry Regiment. On either side of the route to Westminster Abbey were around 1,000 other soldiers, sailors and Royal Air Force personnel.

They disembarked from their three-ton carriage at the Great West Door of Westminster Abbey, flanked by church officials and followed by a retinue of support staff dressed in red uniforms.

All people who cheat will always have their reasons for doing so. .....however anyone who hooked up with Charles was going to be in for a rough ride just being married to the creep. He wasn’ exactly a prize.

Word was she messed around first. She whored around after the divorce which adds credence to her partying ways.

Lol, was not a prize? Charles was the darn Prince of Wales, the pinnacle for any woman who was allowed to marry him. The horse face goofball was most desirable bachelor in that incestual “corporation” due to being, again, the Prince of Wales.

No need to advertise it.

The inclusion of the Fleur de Lys in English symbolism and regalia probably has a lot to do with the Plantagenets, among other influences.

Very good post.

I enjoyed watching the Coronation. Most of my ancestors came from Britain, and by marriage I continued those connections centuries later.

Maybe it’s partly an atavistic thing, but I greatly appreciate watching the customs and commemoration of all of those old values and all of the symbolism that the British Monarchy continues, while we in the US are rapidly losing connection with the past.

Long Live the King!

Sure, Like Prince Harry - without the title neither would be desirable men, that’s for sure.

All He and Camila aren't exactly my ia of a prosperous and modern King and Queen.....but they are the stepping stones that Britains are waiting for sooner rather than later.

Just think how many Americans get upset watching statues of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln and others being torn down along with telling us the country started in 1619, it all runs counter to everything we hold to be true l.

Now think how many Brits would feel about losing the monarchy

The good and bad are part of our culture and history and would should not lose it or we risk losing the country

Not sure which ones he threw but my understanding is that he applied to the DOD to get replacements for them.
