MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle previewed her interview with President Joe Biden Friday on MSNBC’s “The Beat,” in which the president accused Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) of having “sold away everything” to the “far, far right.”
Ruhle asked, “Is Kevin McCarthy an honest broker for you to negotiate with?”
Biden responded, “I think he’s an honest man. I think he’s in a position, though. He had to make a deal that was pretty, you know, 15 votes. Fifteen votes where he just about sold away everything that he, that the far, far right. There’s a Republican Party and there’s the MAGA Republicans, and the MAGA Republicans really have put him in a position where in order to stay speaker, he has to agree, he’s agreed to things that maybe he believes, but are just extreme.”

I will say that Kevin McCarthy has been step in the right direction.

There is lot of truth in what you said.
They must have given Biden some good drugs before doing this interview. He was at an event earlier and had to go to a ‘press conference’, but it was this show.

For all the hair-pulling and bloviating over the Freedom Caucus and their demands before agreeing to vote for McCarthy as speaker, they did a great deed for this nation. For their demands assured that McCarthy moved a bit further right instead of moving left at the demands of the democrats and Romney-type GOP members (and the media).
I have few complaints about McCarthy at the moment, but that is subject to change should he betray his promises. I believe MTG will hold his feet to the fire should he think to stray. That lady shows no fear no matter how much the Never-Trumpers and democrats hate her.
As a side note, when the speaker election “worst thing ever in the House” was happening, I read a few articles at the National Review (I think you get five free articles a month without subscribing and who would pay money?), and they were simply aghast that the Freedom Caucus was demanding the same things they have been making money from for years by pretending to support.
I haven’t visited that site since about that time, but I understand that although they occasionally slightly criticize Biden, the writers all still hate Trump with a passion. Their criticism of Marjorie Taylor Greene was just as bad as they insisted she was going to single-handedly destroy the GOP party. In addition they all supported the deep state (especially Andy McCarthy even after being proved wrong time after time) and continued to insist that the DOJ were professionals so they wouldn’t be going after Trump unless they had solid evidence of crimes committed. LOL! Not a one at that site is truly conservative but instead are money-hungry Lincoln Project types who make money by promoting their “creased suits”, “principled”, take the “high road” view of politics.
