Jordan Neely matters — but where were progressives when 27 others were killed on the subway?

It’s good that New York’s progressive elected officials and transit advocates are outraged by Jordan Neely’s killing on a Manhattan subway train Monday.

Neely’s life mattered — and so did the lives of the 27 other people violently killed on the subway since March 2020.

Where was the progressive outrage then? It might have prevented the latest death.

Monday afternoon, Neely, 30, was menacing people on an F train in Lower Manhattan, according to witnesses, when another passenger put him in a chokehold.

In the 50’s and 60’s they closed down most of the asylums and turned the crazies out on the street to become dangerous, homeless criminals. Then Urban Renewal tore down all the cheap place where they could get three hots and a cot for next to nothing. My mom worked at one of these, a ten story hotel where they got a bed for $.50 and three meals for a buck fifty. Tore it down to put up a new building. Closing the asylums reasoning was it was cruel to keep these people locked up. It also saved a lot of money. Which has cost citizens far more in theft and other crimes, as we are all seeing.

I think it was later than that. 70s maybe. ACLU & Geraldo Rivera’s TV report on horrific institutions may have had something to do with the shuttered places.

The video shows three people restraining him and one was black, that along with 44 prior arrests should be in the first lines of the NY Post.

Doesn’t Rupert Murdock own the NY Post? That would explain why.

For some reason, as I was reading the story, I thought of a character on an old Law and Order by the name of Lemonhead.

Most likely two movies. Titicut Follies and One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. So the hospitals were shut down, and the crazies released on the streets, and mass killings took off like a rocket.

There are too many mentally ill people who need a place to call home even if it’s an institution.

Most of them don’t harm others but injure themselves or overdose on drugs.

Some are a danger to others.

The idea was to let medicines like thorazine do all the work. That’s not how it is in the real world.

Note to self.
As a white male you are GUILTY no matter what. As Scott Adams said, stay the hell away from them.
