And why would they need it if they are destroying Russian armor so handily?

More lies.

“They partially vaporize on impact, poisoning the environment with uranium dust that causes cancer and horrific birth defects.”

They don’t vaporize on impact. There may be some uranium “dust” but that would only impact those in the vehicle that is hit and would be the least of their worries.

Col. Macgregor puts to rest the Russian propaganda about the depleted uranium rounds.

Macgregor: “it’s very good it’s very effective I could attest to that personally and as far as I can tell no one has contracted cancer from being near it around it or having used it
and I certainly loaded rounds and it’s been
a great deal of time around it and I was also on the battlefield where we fought after the war and saw evidence for the damage that inflicted
I don’t know what President Putin’s information is and the Russians are pretty sober minded and normally I think if they knew what they were dealing with they would not make these comments suggesting that this had quote unquote nuclear implications but perhaps they’ve decided that this has some propaganda value that that harms Us in the public eye I have no idea.”

Depleted uranium means it has even less of U-235, which is less than 1% of the natural ore, which is fissionable enough for fuel. U-238 is not a problem. It has a half life of about 4.5 billion years. I’ll put the cancer and horrific birth defects warnings in the same folder with stories about global warming raising the sea levels.

The Republican Guard divisions in Iraq were given hell by our use of depleted uranium sabots. But we didn’t irradiate the countryside. Articles like these are just to create uproar. I kind of wish the media and the web would declare a blackout on this war and not lift it till it was over. Of course I don’t know what each sides’ cheerleaders here on FR would do.

Geez...If a soldier gets hit and killed by a standard, UN-approved FMJ, he’s dead. If he’s hit with a DU round, he’s still dead....

Is this about how nauseating the carnage is post mortem?

War sucks....

“Britain has confirmed delivery of depleted uranium munitions to Ukraine. DU munitions should be banned. They partially vaporize on impact, poisoning the environment with uranium dust that causes cancer and horrific birth defects.”

“In another reckless escalation, Britain has confirmed delivery of depleted uranium munitions to Ukraine. DU munitions should be banned. They partially vaporize on impact, poisoning the environment with uranium dust that causes cancer and horrific birth defects.”

DU munitions? Is that like Democrat Underground? Because your post smells like it.

https://www.nato.int/du/home.htm
“Although a very large body of existing scientific and medical research clearly established that such a link between Depleted Uranium ammunition and the reported illnesses was extremely unlikely, NATO Secretary General George Robertson immediately established an Ad Hoc Committee on Depleted Uranium to serve as a clearing house for information to be shared among interested nations.

To date, the scientific and medical research continues to disprove any link between Depleted Uranium and the reported negative health effects. Furthermore, the present evidence strongly suggests that NATO troops serving in the Balkans are not suffering negative health effects different from those suffered by their colleagues who have not served in the Balkans.”

Also:
One Russian expert told state outlet Tass in 2018 that the use of DU munitions did not violate any international agreements.
