When former President Trump attends a CNN town hall event in New Hampshire next week, it will be his first time sitting down with a major network since he dramatically stormed off the set of a “60 Minutes” interview in late October 2020.
But, according to Trump aides, it likely won’t be the last time. Trump’s first CNN appearance in years comes as the former president and his team are hoping to rebuild his relationships with mainstream outlets after demonizing them for years.

I get the feeling, although I am not confident, that anyone seriously interested in politics already has their preferred news sources and given the ratings numbers, it doesn’t include cable news. That may be confirmation bias on my part, considering I don’t have cable and most people I know have also cut the cord.
When it comes to Trump and “media relationships”, he is like Charlie Brown with the football. He keeps thinking he can build good relations with the liberal media, and they keep screwing him. And yet he tries again, thinking it will work this time. Call it insanity. Call it stupidity. But you can’t call it smart.

it’ll also make it much harder for the CNN talking heads to demonize Trump if CNN’s own audience gets to hear Trump’s actual words from Trump himself ...

Since conservatives cannot rely on Fox News for fair coverage, (at least not as much as we used to) might as well try using the Main Stream Media to get his message out in some effective manner. Fox is no longer a sturdy refuge for MAGA expression.

Trump is looking better than DeSantis to corporate America IMHO and CNN is corporate America IMHO.
Trump will do anything to promote himself. If that means making nice with the MSM, that’s what he’ll do.
Yup...in case some have missed it, the only time I see Trump on TV these days is when he is in court, or when they are discussing his case, or when he pays for the time. He has been cancelled and needs get back on free TV. He is popular enough if given enough air time to destroy the other networks IMO. Furthermore, it is the election season and he needs get his message out and counter the tarnish being launched his way.
