Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a trio of anti-crime bills on Monday, bolstering penalties for fentanyl trafficking, imposing capital punishment on criminals charged with child rape, and establishing new bond regulations.

The Florida Supreme Court will be required to establish a uniform statewide bond schedule and prohibit individuals who have been arrested for specific crimes from being released before their first appearance in court.

Under the bill package, those caught trafficking “rainbow fentanyl” will be made eligible for a life sentence and face a minimum 25-year sentence, as well as a $1 million fine.

It also adds certain crimes like DUI manslaughter and extortion to the list of “dangerous crimes” that can lead to pretrial detention.

Yup, going after the traffickers with a 25 year MINIMUM sentence. Overnight, drug traffickers will self migrate from the Great State of Florida, accordingly all serious crime will go down, kids will be safer.

He is a great Republican governor of a red state with a red legislature that Trump got over the finish line in ‘18.

He signed these bills to blunt the backlash of signing an anti-1st Amendment law on foreign soil.

Conservatives like me, however, will never forget. I'll never vote for Ron.

An activist federal judge is going to strike down part of these laws anyway and tie them up in the courts.

The penalty for dealing drugs should be death by hanging. Using should allow three chances then a reunion with the dealer.

This is if we’re serious about stopping drug use.

again, he is just signing papers of what others accomplished. like a teacher marking assignment complete.

what has desantis actually done ever, on his own, to show he is a man of genuine integrity and character outside of for his family or for political or personal gain?
