With their decision to take Tucker Carlson’s show off the air, Fox News’s Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch have failed to account for media and political dynamics that have, over a period of years, shifted under their feet. The Murdochs’ decision will inevitably prove catastrophic for Fox News and will likely be an inflection point that marks a wholesale change to a media landscape that, to paraphrase Matt Taibbi, has calcified in progressive concrete.
The philosopher George Santayana famously opined that “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” That is not quite true—just ask the French, who, circa 1940, were fully prepared to refight World War I. The real lesson of history is that anyone who ignores history in context is doomed to failure. Such is the situation with Fox News.
Rupert Murdoch launched Fox News in 1996. The late Charles Krauthammer, often a guest on Fox News, once quipped that Murdoch saw a “niche” market opportunity in the U.S. for conservative news, with the niche amounting to “half the country.” Over the past 27 years, Fox News lucratively occupied that niche as the only viable broadcast media source for center-right news and opinion. It grew to be the dominant news source in the cable market.
The world has changed dramatically since 1996, though, and no more so than in the last seven years. Trump’s election in 2016 tore off the last vestiges of moderate camouflage shielding the progressive cancer that infects America.

Only took 22 years.
By court order Murdoch (happily) funded future election fraud. The court mandated funds makes Murdoch and Dominion cohorts...The Judge gave both of them a reach around.
Who is that?
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
So true.
Now they’re saying Tucker Carlson was not fired. He is still under contract.
He has been silenced.
This isn’t about Fox, it’s about Blackrock.
This isn’t about money, it’s about power.
This isn’t about information, it’s about propaganda.
This isn’t about Rupert Murdock, it’s about Klaus Schwab.
This isn’t about Tucker Carlson, it’s about Donald Trump.
Sean Hannity...King of....tick tock, tick tock,......
Keeping Tucker under contract to prevent him from speaking ANYWHERE (until after the political event Fox is trying to protect) is the purest example of raw censorship I have seen recently.
Could there be a more fundamental act of disloyalty to Fox’s viewers? You mean Fox viewers, a sitting President and an entire nation. With their obvious participation in election fraud, as well as their silence and internal censorship on all things 2020 election, for over 2 yrs?
BTW, Tucker's no saint here. He played an enabler part in the scam with his silence as well.
I think it's called lying by omission.
Elon could do that or he could partner with Rumble which already has their platform up and running. It took them years to write the code, build out the servers, etc etc. Musk could save a lot of time and effort by allying with them instead of building it all from scratch.
Gutfeld is literally all that Fox has left. He hosts the Five - their top rated remaining show and his late night show is #1 in the country for late night comedy shows.
If Gutfeld ever chooses to leave, there is nothing else Fox has.
I used to time my dinner by Tucker’s show. As soon as I heard the drumroll at the start of his show, it was time to eat. Then I would usually skip Hannity and then watch that bubbleheaded beach blonde that comes after him. But no more. Now I watch Bolling on Newsmax during dinner. And I’m also tuning in to MSNBC to hear what the other side is up to.
One excuse offered for the Carlson firing is that the sale is imminent and Tucker as well as any like Tucker had to be gone. If that were to be true it would illustrate the lack of business smartness and stupidity rampant in the head office.
There has been a lot of speculation and suggestions on FR on a replacement for Tucker. In my opinion, any truly conservative commentator can see what happened to Tucker at Fox and know what their future there will be. They should see it and heed the warning it provides.

It was a US feral government false-flag.
Building 7 is the key to unraveling the truth. “they” can’t let that get widespread exposure. I watched on live tv when it fell.... still amazed how it was delt with
Given the extent to which our liberties have been infringed upon since then, that is not an unreasonable conclusion. The bigger powers play on fear, and fear is easy to stimulate in masses who have no anchor and do not fear God.
I should add at the same time, I am inclined to treat it as an open question. My take is that radical enemies of Western culture planned and carried out the attacks, and the powers that be did not “let a crisis go to waste,” as it were. They seized upon and opportunity to gain a stronger foothold into the deliberate erosion of individual liberties.
