Jenny Craig has alerted employees to potential mass layoffs as it begins “winding down physical operations” and hunts for a buyer, according to communications the weight-loss company sent some staffers this week.
The company said it “has been going through a sales process for the last couple of months,” according to a document titled “Jenny Craig Company Transition FAQs” that was dated Tuesday and provided to NBC News.
Several Jenny Craig staffers said the company alerted them in recent days about potential layoffs.
The FAQ document said: “While we had to issue Warn Notices specifically for sites where we had more than 50 people potentially impacted, this will likely impact all employees in some manner.
“We do not know the exact employees/groups whom will be impacted, and if any employees may be retained. As a result, we would suggest that you anticipate that your employment may be impacted and begin to seek other employment,” it said.

Americans are all finally fit. All BMI’s are 20. No need for their services.
Maybe they’ve looked around and asked, why bother anymore?
They’ve no doubt seen what’s increasingly obvious in American society: “morbidly obese” is the new “just a little bit fat”.... and don’t you DARE try to shame the land whales.
In case you haven’t noticed, fat ugly women (but not similar men, for some reason) are one of the latest oh-so-hip trends in those things which the tribe of media propagandists call “commercials”.
The same surely applies to the latest TV shows and movies too, but I wouldn’t know about that. Unfortunately commercials are not totally capable of being avoided.
You don’t need a BMI number to tell if someone is fat or obese. And you can’t count on a BMI number to confirm someone is actually healthy.
BMI is not a great measure of health to base someones overall health on. Its just a height to weight ratio. The cutoffs decided for fat and obese were arbitrary, amd overnight millions technically normal before, became fat or obese.
Once Keto became popular, their days were numbered.
Yeah, hard to run a problem-solving business when the afflicted believe when others tell them that fat is beautiful.
It’s economic times like this that companies need to trim the fat...
Ha.
Old saying was ruthless business leaders wanted to trim the fat. Now it’s coming true.
I honestly feel sorry for the many lines of work where good people who are working are losing their jobs. It is painful for them and their loved ones.
Especially when millions of losers are gladly at home smoking dope, drinking, screwing and taking taxpayer money for welfare and other entitlements. They deserve to suffer, not the good working people losing jobs.
Drug companies:
Just swallow our pills and your excess pounds will vanish.
Al Bundy has lost a punch line.
They were exterminating weight-challenged individuals.
My son in law is over his “BMI” number, there might be a pound of fat on him, otherwise, pure muscle. “BMI” is used for setting health insurance rates, a government made up statistic.
I see a Nutrisystem commercial every 5 minutes but never saw a Jenny Craig ad. I never understood why they didn’t try harder. IIRC, isn’t Jenny Craig affiliated with Scientology?
Those people identify as skinny, therefore they are translender. No need for Jenny Craig.
The customers have given up and will inflate further to MGM proportions.
