Biden had to declare in order to not become a lame duck president. But , his declaration is only temporary, and he has the option of dropping out long before the election, while other democrat contenders prepare for the primaries in the background. Thus, there are other candidates and more to come who are prepping to replace Biden, who is a contender, but only temporarily.
There won’t be a Trump/Biden rematch, and that would please NBC and all the other left-wingers who don’t want Biden to be embarrassed with a big loss.
