Federal funds aimed at helping agriculture address the impacts of climate change must not be raided to fund agriculture as a whole, Democratic senators say.
The move comes as Congressional Republicans suggest defunding agricultural conservation programs entirely.
“I strongly oppose any measures that would essentially cannibalize Inflation Reduction Act conservation funding in order to pay for the Farm Bill conservation efforts,” Sen. John Fetterman (D-Penn.) wrote in a letter.
The Inflation Reduction Act is the climate stimulus package that the Democrats passed along party lines last September. It contains $19 billion for helping agriculture adapt to the climate crisis.

I have zero clue why the Dems chose this lifelong slacker to steal an election in PA. His parents must have dirt on the people there. He’s half a carcass mentally I’ll at best. There wasn’t anyone better? Occam’s Razor shows us why he was their candidate.

Climate change can’t cannibalize funding for non-imaginary problems.
How about not funding agriculture at all? Farmers are some of the best educated (yes, Ag majors learn real science), best businessmen, most innovative and productive men in America. There is no way you can convince me how someone in sitting in DC or a state Capitol knows how to farm better than someone who actually does it for a living. The only things the Dept. Of Agriculture does is get in the way of the productive and subsidizes the unproductive.
Mental midgets are much easier to control than people who even occasionally think for themselves . . . like Joe Manchin.
He’s obviously right! Solving a maybe problem 50 years from now is FAR more important that people eating today.
How can West Virginia elect Manchin next year? His party has destroyed their great resources, he’s made millions on Pharma, but they still elect him? Doesn’t make any sense.
