Governors of states go on trade missions to other countries frequently. People are paying attention to this only because he might be a presidential candidate. It normally is not even news when a governor of a state goes somewhere.

I agree , if he is doing this just to try to show he has some foreign policy credentials, such photo ops are a joke.

Whether he'll be the nominee or not remains to be seen - he isn't even running currently. As for whether he has a clue about the subject matter - he'd better. All state governors should be able to discuss trade between their states and foreign governments, and many do. What's your reason for believing he can't?
