Walt Disney Co. sued Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, alleging the Republican governor has waged a "relentless campaign to weaponize government power" over the company.
The suit dramatically escalates the feud between DeSantis, who is expected to become a top Republican contender for the 2024 presidential race, and Disney.
The lawsuit was filed the same day that a DeSantis-backed board moved to undo a development deal that it says Disney struck to thwart its power...

Ron DeSantis has not been a unilateral actor against Disney. He has done nothing without the support of Florida’s House and Senate.

Former President Donald Trump weighed in on the Ron DeSantis-Disney feud, not by siding with the company’s tolerance policies, but by invoking fear of an economic apocalypse.
“Disney’s next move will be the announcement that no more money will be invested in Florida because of the Governor — In fact, they could even announce a slow withdrawal or sale of certain properties, or the whole thing. Watch! That could be a killer,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.
Trump is about to lose me again over this. After his indictment I was 100% on the Trump Train, but if he keeps defending Disney I’ll be back off of it. Anyone that supports groomers is not someone I can support.
Sad but true. Trump seems to support the perverts.
That’s why it must be required to have skin in the game, $$$.
But when it comes to EEO complaints, and especially in the government, it’s “free” for the accuser. So everyone literally does accuse anyone for anything race, sex, sexual orientation related.
If you’re black, Latino, homo or female (and the boss is male), you can always play the “free” I was discriminated against card if you disagree with an outcome on a: promotion, assignment, duty station, evaluation, negative counseling, etc.
Also, there need to be consequences for libel and slander.
Without any consequences for lying and making if free, causes what you have today: ~14,000 EEO complaints annually (that are officially filed, there are a lot more but those never get to the point of being filed) inside the government (not counting the DoD). Most of them total BS.
How is it an attack to make Disney follow the same rules as other businesses. Just because they got a huge break all those years ago does not obligate the state to never change that privilege unless such is expressed in contract/agreement. Even then there are means to suspend such.

See the board already handled the illegal actions of the previous disney board. Now it’s Disney who needs to sue to end this not DeSantis.

He pushed them and he got the right people elected to make this happen.

It’s funny listening to Disney claim it’s not fair that they don’t get special protection and consideration that other businesses don’t get.
