Oh, So That's Why No One Can Challenge Biden Within the Democratic Party
Townhall ^ | 04/26/2023 | Matt Vespa

Posted on 04/26/2023 7:55:03 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Joe Biden is an exceptionally weak incumbent. We’re amid an economic recession, the banking system is failing, and we’re adrift abroad. Biden once again left Americans behind as we headed evacuation operations in war-torn Sudan. It’s a checklist presidency, with its officials more concerned about adhering to woke orthodoxy than effective governance. Inflation remains at unacceptable highs, which is killing working families. Biden’s age and competency are also in play, an issue accentuated by the Democrats’ plot to oust Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), whose mental decline has been evident for years, to pave the way for judicial confirmations. Biden seems primed for a challenge on his left, a sizeable portion of Democrats doesn’t want this old man to run, but that likely won’t happen for many reasons, but one stands out as the actual killer to the ‘primary Biden’ operation.

It's the calendar. The primary season for Democrats is a coronation merry-go-round because they already have their candidate, which ensures a Biden sweep. All the early contests are states where Biden performed well four years ago. With no field, he’s bound to dominate, allowing for a delegate count that would be insurmountable for any challenger, something that former Obama adviser David Axelrod noted on CNN:

…structurally, the president has altered the playing field in a way that should make it harder for a challenger to elbow in. Biden’s supporters on the Democratic National Committee (DNC) followed his recommendations and set up a firewall by voting to change the calendar of early 2024 primary contests to favor states in which he would be expected to win handily.

Gone completely from the official calendar are the Iowa caucuses, the traditional campaign kickoff event but one that treated Biden rudely with a fourth-place finish in 2020. Instead, the calendar will begin in South Carolina, a Biden stronghold where Black and moderate White voters revived his flagging candidacy and launched him toward the presidency.

New Hampshire, where Biden finished a dismal fifth in 2020, is scheduled to go second, but it will be joined by Nevada, a state where Biden can expect better treatment. Under the DNC plan, Michigan and Georgia, two other Biden-friendly states, will then follow. Not all of these changes are set in stone, however, as New Hampshire, long home to the first-in-the-nation primary (as distinct from the caucuses held in Iowa) is threatening to move its 2024 date forward, in defiance of the DNC, to keep its time-honored status. Republicans in Georgia could block the move to an earlier state primary date.

The other factors favoring Biden are obvious: the 2024 Democratic field is a clown show. So far, it’s Marianne Williamson and her magic crystals and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who has spewed misinformation about vaccines for years. And yes, the Kennedy family isn’t supportive of this effort. As we noted before, Democrats are also hoping that Trump clearing the 2024 GOP field will make the choice even clearer, despite Biden's noticeable cognitive deficiencies. He may be old, stupid, and slow—but he’s not an agent of chaos like Trump; that’s the Left’s narrative. During the 2022 midterms, Democrats gambled that voters would pick stability over havoc, despite all the political headwinds facing Democrats—and they were right.

Trump's chaos was peace, prosperity, and ample jobs until the left wing orchestrated riots in 2020 timed to take Trump down.

Biden's calm seas is lost wars, economy in flames, China maneuvering to pounce, and people wondering if they can afford eggs anymore. But no mean tweets.

Yup, clearly Biden's the right choice.

the left always accuses the right of what they are doing. Like committing treason with Russia. Or in this instance, creating chaos.

Look around. Biden, and the damage he has done over the 2+ years he's been in office is characterized as "stability".

Those who remember 4 good years under Trump (no inflation, no war, solid economic growth, record low unemployment) -- you may not have realized it, but that was "havoc".

The perception that Trump is chaotic is 90% caused by the media and how they blow everything about him out of proportion.

The demorats no longer care which communist sits in the Oval Office because like Cho BiDung, that person is just a meat puppet. With the help of Big Media and unrestrained and unverifiable mail-in voting there will always be just enough votes for the left to assure their victory.

The BiDung Crime Family is just one of a group that simply takes orders from the ObungHole/Soros consortium. Until a significant number of the principles in those groups are swinging from a lamppost, little will change for the better.

As old and feeble as Biden is, just about anything can happen to him in the next year. It seems that the DNC is comfortable with Harris as their plan B.

And while I realize that Biden is very compliant, and goes along with all the behind the scenes maneuvering, he is dragging the party into the ground. And once the Republicans figure out how to combat the voting shenanigans, the Democrats should get steamrolled.

Of course, just as the Democrats were blind to how bad Obama set the party back in the 2010 midterms, they must think they're invincible, and don't need to actually administer the government in any productive way. Maybe they're right. We don't seem to have a handle on how to slow their destructive policies down.

“Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who has spewed misinformation about vaccines...”

That is his mortal sin, not saying that climate-change deniers should be locked up.

“Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who has spewed misinformation about vaccines for years.”

That might have seemed a reasonable comment before the President mandated that people take an experimental vaccine whose safety and efficacy was unknown. Given recent events, I now practice caveat emptor with all medical recommendations.

Matt Vespa is the reason I no longer go to Townhall.com. He tends to slip liberal editorials into his reporting. Or in his language, ‘Matt Vespa has spewed liberal misinformation for years.’

The purported explanation in fact has nothing to do with why Biden is running again and why the Dems cleared the deck for him to run again.

He is an empty shell, and that's why they want him to run again. The 'they' being the informal junta of Dem party members, bureaucrats and oligarchs who are actually running the country. The probably already have enough ballots printed for him to win again, too, since almost nothing effective has been done to address the vote fraud in 2020, and the fraud is becoming more and more explicit without consequence as in Arizona in November and elsewhere in the midterms.

I would have thought that these people would be confronted directly by Red State governments, but none appear to have the stomach to do so. IMHO it looks more and more as though physical elimination will be the only real alternative. "Voting harder" isn't going to do it. And even if by some miracle they are defeated at the ballot box, they'll just try another way to subvert the system again as they did successfully after Trump won. You can't have a Constitution that means anything when your basic rights are up for grabs at every election. The threat has to be removed permanently.

Sorry if that makes anyone unhappy, but that's the way it looks to me.

Joe Biden is an exceptionally weak incumbent.

That's what his handlers want, someone weak whom they can control.

Thanks for the information.

I find anthropogenic global warming (AGW) and Climate Change (CC) hypotheses to be, at times, inconsistent. The former predicts warm winters, the latter explains extremely cold winters. I’m glad Junior believes in my freedom of speech, but disappointed that wants to muzzle Exon-Mobile.

Perhaps he would also like to muzzle Pfizer. While I might be sympathetic, I cannot agree. We should all strive for a reasonable degree of consistency. Giving the government the right to silence corporations is simply giving the government too much power. It already has too much power.

The end result of Bolshekrat policy is not jobs, it is, government handouts. Most of us accept Social Security and Medicare because we have been paying for it.

Nobody will challenge Biden unless Obama allows it. I think he’s pretty happy with the puppet he has.
