I am not saying Nikki Haley is a bad or worse a horrible person, but the simple fact is she excites no one. She will be seen as nice but dull on the campaign trail.

Exactly. You can’t settle an issue between two diametrically opposed worldviews, on an issue with no middle ground, by having a “constructive conversation”. It’s not as if people didn’t try that for 50 years anyway.
These are the civilization-defining issues where one side must win, and the other must lose, and when that battle is finally over, the losing position will never be allowed to be advocated again in polite society. We had one of those issues already in our history, which was slavery. We’re approaching the time when we’ll have to come to a final settlement on this one, for better or worse.

Although with the issue now at the state level you’re going to see some states restricting abortion and other states allowing it.
We already see this happening as some of the liberal states have enacted very liberal abortion laws after Roe versus Wade was overturned.
