Republican presidential candidate and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) said on this week’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday” that the government should not interfere with parents’ decisions on hormone treatments for transgender children
Anchor Shannon Bream said, “Let’s talk about another hot-button issue, transitions for patients and people under the age of 18. People have argued that your position is not truly conservative. You vetoed a bill that would have prohibited hormone treatment or puberty blockers for people under the age of 18.”

Okay. Government shouldn’t interfere with a parent’s decision to let a kid buy booze. Government shouldn’t interfere with a parent’s decision to let the kid so drugs. Government shouldn’t interfere with the parent’s decision whether to feed the kid or not. Or murder the kid. Let’s be consistent.
Is he one of those “conservatives”, who stakes out a position on an issue, where he can say he’s actually reasonable/not bigoted/sensitive to these “transsexual” people???
So to him, the issue isn’t what these medical interventions do to children and adolescents. To him, the issue is parental choice, or being pro-choice, to borrow the language from the abortion debate.
ok then........
Minor children lack the ability to make rational decisions. Allowing minor children to take life altering drugs and have irreversible surgical procedures is child abuse regardless of the wishes of the parent or the child or an interested third party.
What about all the kids in foster care getting them
Hutchinson found claiming to be a conservative a convenient way to get elected governor of Arkansas. That’s all it was about, a way to get elected. Then, sign some reasonable bills the Arkansas Legislature sent his way and claim more credit.
If Dims had been electable when he ran, you can be sure he would have been a (D).
Yep, shows in part how political leanings change.
Bill Clinton was an Arkansas Democrat. When Hillary ran for president, she got barely 1/3 of the vote in former home state.
It’s hard to believe now, that California gave us Ronald Reagan.
The whole red state/blue state divisions we talk about, have seen some states shift over time.
I remember when he announced…I wasn’t thinking of voting for him then, and I sure wouldn’t vote for him now!
These go along to get along guys don’t appreciate how really evil this trans stuff is and that actually it’s already the state (either State or Federal level) that is all about control, trying to PREVENT parents from deciding about hormone treatments and even castration or hysterectomies.
So the ‘parental decision” is good only if works on the side of the state.
The physicians who prescribe this drugs and perform these mutilations are no different that the Nazi concentration camp “doctor” Josef Mengele. At their core they are evil sadists. So are the people who support them.
There are times when the government should step in to protect children from psycho parents.
Should be rare but available when absolutely necessary.
NO hormonal puberty blocking!
NO “trans” surgery!
NO means NEVER!!!!
Mental health help instead, for the children AND their parents!!!!
The position that parents may be interfered with in some decisions about their children, but only not when it comes to giving their children puberty blockers, is not a principled position respecting parents rights, but a political one attempting to not be opposed by trans activists.
I thought that one of the jobs of government was to stop child abuse. Guess Hutchinson doesn’t think so.
I wonder if he thinks that government should interfere with a parent’s decision to break a kid’s arm? I assume he would oppose that too. How about cutting off an arm of a teen who got a tattoo that he no longer likes?
Point being that the state has a role in PROTECTING kids, and I’m perfectly fine with that (as long as that role is used responsibly).
Please clap
Loser
Yeah ok and if the parents have their kids make kiddie porn that is their choice right?
“ Minor children lack the ability to make rational decisions. Allowing minor children to take life altering drugs and have irreversible surgical procedures is child abuse”
So - if someone is NOT a minor, hiring a third party to mutilate their body is a rational decision?
Does he believe in having parental permission to drive a car at age 10?
I think he’s stretching things a bit.
This kind of treatment sex change is an adult thing IMHO.
There’s been this effort underway to make all marriage laws say you can’t get married until 18 in all the states if that’s the way they want it seems to me this kind of treatment should be an 18 year old thing.
Hutchinson could be on the take from the Medical Industrial Complex that makes $$$$ off this stuff.
Hutchinson has the RINO girly man vote locked in.
