Oh my, it’s horrid. How will a a governor in a state with a solid red legislature ever fight this? Ummm, it will and it will win.
Except he hasn’t lost to Disney. This is a desperate act by Disney that shows, truly, how badly they have lost. They tried to have the outgoing board wrote a contract that fails in so many way. Firstly, it isn’t even a valid contract under Contracts 101. Second, the new law invalidates it. Third, even if there were a “loophole” in the new law, it can be closed. Fourth and finally, this will all be litigated in Florida Courts which will shut and already weak Disney position down.
But hey, let’s attack anything DeSantis has done as being a defeat. I mean, if we have to tear down the guy who has done great things in Florida, and in the process, tear down the good things he has done BECAUSE he might be running against Trump.
Or Trump can do what he should be doing. Forget about the ankle biter GOP and concentrate on policy. Be a serious candidate. This isn’t 2016. He has a record to run on and some to run from.
I am 89% sure you pulled that number out of you ass
I wasted time reading this because I was curious how Disney could “set its own utility rates.” The article does not give any hint how even a company run by Satan could usurp Florida's Public Service Commission.
This article is just a missmash of hate rumors alleging DeSantis is losing here, losing there, and causing tooth-decay in between.
The property and utility agreements were in full conpliance with the sunshine and public notice requirements.

Dittos. I am in one of the most liberal Florida countries. (Brow__ard) Stupid Dems and libs mind their manners even here/ I have heard of no drag queen events. There are loads of conservatives in my FL county/ I talk to them.
Quote: “The property and utility agreements were in full conpliance with the sunshine and public notice requirements.”
Except they weren’t in compliance with the new law or basic contract principles.
Unenforceable and not worth the paper it is written upon.
A decent summary of why Disney is whistling past the graveyard here.

Desantis has over 4 years executive branch experience (more than Trump)
Wrong. Trump had 50 years of executive experience as a CEO of his multi-billion dollar company - plus 4 years as President. DeSantis has had 4 years as an executive in the minor leagues. Signing bills sent to him by one of the most conservative state legislatures in the country doesn’t require a lot of leadership.
I read that the Trump family is siding with Bud Light after the booze maker contributed millions to Republicans. I am talking about money.
Is this the kind of corporate donor fear you have?
Florida is the third largest (population) state in the nation - larger population than New York. You call that minor league?
By the way, President Trump is a refugee in Florida after being driven into exile by his native state of New York.
I'm not blaming Trump for failing to save New York.
Trump was never Governor of New York.
Trump will say anything to get himself off, like taking the virginity of your slice of pizza.
There is no such thing as “expanding Medicare”.
Old news. That move didn’t get what Disney thought.
“Trump was never Governor of New York.”
Point well taken.
Birdman's Newsweek article in post #9 lists this as reason 2 of 3 why Reedy Creek cannot escape what Desantis and the Florida legislature have crafted. Short answer: Yes, Reedy Creek is subject to Florida's sunshine laws, although I am sure Disney's lawyers will contest what the term of art 'local government' means. Disney's problem is that they have themselves referred to themselves in this manner in the past, so that now works against them.
Both DeSantis' adversaries and detractors seem to continually miss an important fact -- he was a lawyer for a good while, and a good one. And he has surrounded himself with a cabinet that is also adept and shares his disgust with the hegemony leftist groupthink has held in popular culture so very painfully long. Florida also has a legislature of like mind. Together they are rolling back this dysphoric tide at a phenomenal rate that many states are now seeing to emulate. It can't happen too soon.
Vox garbage. Not exposing little kids to sexually explicit conversations turns into this nonsense.
That was DisneyLand, not DisneyWorld. You’re off by about 2,500 miles.
If DeSantis can’t handle Disney how’s he going to handle Xi and Putin.
He’s on the No sale list for me.
