Communist China Announces Plan To Execute American on Charges of Drug Trafficking Which He Denies
Your America ^ | 04/21/2023 | Gwen Stokes

An American businessman arrested in Communist China over a decade on apparently flimsy charges of drug trafficking will be put to death, Chinese government officials have announced.

Mark Swidan, a Houston, Texas businessman, was arrested in November 2012 and sentenced to death in 2018 on charges he was in China to smuggle illegal drugs.

John Kamm, chairman of the Dui Hua human rights foundation, tells Newsweek “the only ‘evidence’ against him is that Swidan once visited a factory where Chinese authorities allege the meth was manufactured, and that he had been in a room rented by another person where drugs were found.” Swidan was also not in China at the time of the alleged drug trafficking and none of the alleged co-conspirators know who he is.

Swidan denies the charges and has refused to sign confessions.

Swidan appealed his sentence, which was recently upheld by a Chinese court. He has been held in the notoriously brutal Jiangmen Prison and subjected to psychological torture and physical abuse.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz is leading an effort in the U.S. Senate to secure Swidan’s release.

The Chinese Communist Party has unjustly detained Mark Swidan for over a decade. They have subjected him to physical and psychological abuse and atrocities. Today’s announcement is an escalation in this detention and abuse. It’s completely unacceptable,” said Cruz in a statement denouncing the upheld death sentence.

“Mark Swidan was convicted and sentenced to death on false charges. The Chinese court’s decision today is outrageous. It confirms that China is engaged in hostage taking and hostage blackmail. They aspire to be part of the community of nations, but these tactics are those used exclusively by Third World despots,” said Cruz.

“Mark’s conditions are dire. The Biden administration should use every tool available to secure Mark’s safe return to Texas. It is clear that the Chinese Communist Party is committed to continuing their blackmail until the U.S. uses appropriate leverage to secure his release,” said Cruz.

China wants Biden begging them for cooperation.
This is a tactic I would have more expected from North Korea’s Krazy-Kim, until here lately. China seems intent on throwing all decorum aside these days. Perhaps the Taiwan question has something to do with it.

If only we would follow suit.

But there’s way too many medical opioid addicts to get there from here. Too many libtards too.

If you like due process, don’t go to a country that has no due process.

" The Biden administration should use every tool available to secure Mark’s safe return to Texas."

Well, that's the problem. The Biden Administration is run by tools.

Let's see.... He was arrested by China in November 2012. That is the same month this happened: U.S.-China Relations under Barack Obama and Xi Jinping (Tsinghua U. hosts Pro-Obama Seminar) Tsinghua University ^ | 11/29/2012 | Brookings-Tsinghua Center for Public Policy Posted on 6/24/2013, 4:25:37 AM by TexGrill The reelection of President Barack Obama and the convening of China’s 18th National Congress marks a new era for U.S.-China relations. On November 29, the Brookings-Tsinghua Center for Public Policy hosted Jeffrey Bader for a public forum to discuss these and related issues facing the Obama and Xi administrations. Bader is the John C. Whitehead senior fellow in international diplomacy at the Brookings Institution. He served as senior director for East Asian affairs on the National Security Council during President Obama’s first term, and is the author of Obama and China’s Rise: An Insider’s Account of America’s Asian Strategy. In Bader’s view, U.S.-China relations are in pretty good shape right now.

Why does Tsinghua University say its surprised Obummer’s NSA hacked into its computer networking systems 63 times during one day in January? Tsinghua and Obummer have a major partnership agreement. Here are a few links for Freepers:

I believe his best chance would be to tell his representatives to contact Putin about it, he has the capability to persuade Jinping arrange a deal to send him back. The Chinese are in no mood to talk to lying American politicians directly about anything.

Also, it could be that we wouldn’t want a deal to get him back, our nutty leaders would rather use this guy for the pro war propaganda case against China. If so, he is SOL.

Swidan should declare himself to be transgender or some other variety of LGBTQ+ and then maybe the administration would be interested in rescuing him.

We may be holding someone from China they want. This is how swaps occur. We recently arrested two Chinese in NYC who were allegedly running a Chinese police station.
