Republican-led red states are overall in a much better economic situation than Democrat-led blue states, according to a new report that ranks the economic outlook of all 50 states.
The annual "Rich States, Poor States" report, authored by economists Stephen Moore, Arthur Laffer, and Jonathan Williams, calculated each state's economic outlook by taking into account 15 variables β such as its taxes, minimum wage, policies toward unions, and quality of legal system β to create a final ranking. The authors noted that each variable is directly influenced by state lawmakers through the legislative process.
Mostly red states joined Utah atop the list of best economic outlook for 2023. Here's the top 10:
Utah
North Carolina
Arizona
Idaho
Oklahoma
Wyoming
Indiana
North Dakota
Florida
Nevada

In spite of Romney, I presume.
Utah? head shake
BS!
Texas was not even on the list.
Insane.
We are going to see a complete collapse in the real estate market.
Very soon no one will pay $20 million for a condo in NY or SF, they will realize you can buy an estate for a fraction of that in much nicer parts of the country.
—South Dakota should be there-
It’s a percentage thing, everything here is running super hot but Texas is way bigger
The power grid failure in Texas last year was a major warning sign to me that the state may not be all that itβs cracked up to be.
Figures never lie, but Liars Figure.
Most of the Stats in MSM are engineered toward a given outcome even before the numbers are compared.
Engineered results.
If you look at the scale of new jobs and businesses moving to Texas, no state is higher.
Nonsense, that was caused by the idiots controlling the grid. The president of that organization has never lived in Texas.
Bureaucrap caused that.
We have the oil and gas to do whatever we want to. And our power grid is independent of other states if they want to be. Most states share load factors.
Texas has its problems and probably always will, however our economy is likely larger then all ten of those states combined
Yes they should be and they used to be, but the demise was predicted when the sales tax rose and other changes to the SD way of doing things were made by the Governor and Legislature.
The criteria for a high position on the chart were known and the State chose to ignore those factors and press forward with the lower classification.
Ya if Texas were growing as fast as Utah it could probably make a whole other Utah every year https://countryeconomy.com/countries/usa-states/compare/texas/utah
The point is that this happened in Texas. It didn't happen in the other states on that list.
Connecticut is not on the list? How shocking...π€
Good point.
I know more than a few of the senior level operators at various generators and the transfer and regulatory org and this could have easily been avoided if not for bureaucracy and fed restrictions.
Workarounds and alternate schemes have been created and its highly unlikely outside of a massive catastrophe it will happen again
You were not allowed to use nat gas or oil. Thirty percent of your peak portfolio was contracted to wind power. The late T. Boone Pickens may have had a hand in that. News Flash: wind and sun are interruptible fuel sources and should not be in a peak portfolio. But they are and because of that there will be blackouts. Period.
In 3, 2,.. NY will have it’s hand out, again.
