TRUMP PRESENTS PLAN TO END ‘SCOURGE’ OF HOMELESS, ADDICTS, AND MENTALLY ILL ON THE STREETS

President Donald Trump presented a sparkling policy pitch on Tuesday that delivered a bullet point action plan for cleaning up American streets and getting the homeless population the help that they need.

“Our once-great cities have become unlivable, unsanitary nightmares, surrendered to the homeless, the drug addicted, and the violent and dangerously deranged,” Trump said in a video. “We are making many suffer for the whims of a deeply unwell few. And they are unwell indeed. The homeless have no right to turn every park and sidewalk into a place for them to squat and do drugs.”

He added, “Americans should not have to step over piles of needles and waste as they walk down a street in a beautiful city. Or at least once beautiful city because they’ve changed so much over the last ten years.”

As part of the president’s Agenda47 policy platform for his 2024 bid for president, the following actions will be implemented to combat the dangerously unsafe conditions of many American cities:

“This strategy will be far better and also far less expensive than spending vast sums of taxpayer money to house the homeless in luxury hotels without addressing their underlying issues—and they have so many of these underlying issues and needs,” Trump explained.

Additionally, those who violate the ban on urban camping will be arrested, “but they will be given the option to accept treatment and services if they are willing to be rehabilitated. Many of them don’t want that, but we will give them the option.”

Trump emphasized that the first consideration government should give is to the “rights and safety of the hardworking, law-abiding citizens who make our society function.”

The scandal of the suffering these people are experiencing - and that they bring to others - was brought about by one stupid book, one stupid TV news program, and one stupid movie.

It really makes you wonder if Americans are capable of self-government.

1) The Myth of Mental Illness - Tomas Szasz (1961)
2) The Willowbrook Files - Geraldo Rivera (1972)
3) One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest - Jack Nicholson (1975)

Haven’t you heard? The constitution means nothing, it’s just a living document.

Democrats have ignored it time and time again. At this point, it’s whatever fedgov wants, laws and limits be dam*ed..

If you live in normal America, you have no idea just how bad things are. I spent a day in Sacramento last week and was quite surprised. The homeless bum jungles have taken over that place.

So you are in favor of the federal govt expanding its role and having a say in the day-to-day operations of cities/States? Is that what you’re saying?

“Arrest, charge with vagrancy...send to camp..”

Vagrancy is a misdemeanor in every jurisdiction I’m aware of, meaning you can’t hold them without bail, much less send them to a “camp”, and it’s actually rather tricky to prosecute since the statues usually tend to conflict with basic rights like freedom of movement. So I don’t think that theory’s going to work out.

Well

a) That was done under the authority of the President’s wartime powers, which are not relevant here.

and

b) Yes, the courts were involed.

I would prefer Trump leading the state governors to come up with plans and use federal powers in a supporting role.

Fundamentally, the problem is rooted in a rejection of God. A biblically-illiterate society will continue to produce homelessness, drug addictions, and unstructured lives.

Trump made many promises before the 2016 election that the left, and even some R’s, said were “just politics as usual” and not meant to be believed -— and then he went on to keep his promises and America was all the better for it.

Just think of how much better things will be again if he keeps these new promises. I’m going to believe he can and will until he proves me wrong.

In 2019 I went to a mental health and homeless summit at the White House. (Eisenhower office bldg.) Trump made a surprise appearance because it is an issue he feels so strongly about and he is absolutely right. Even the professionals that were in that room. Mostly Democrats applauded when he talked about what needs to be done, people don’t realize how passionate he is on the mental health issues and the addiction issues. He did a lot during his term and now it’s all upside down.

Yeah, I got a plan too. Send ‘em all to LA. Nobody’d know the difference.

He will have to use the federal funding stick to coerce the states & localities because there’s very little FedGov can directly do.

Yes, the Democrats are used to using federal funds to get their way at the state and local level.. We can use federal defunding

The only one of those ideas that are the responsibility of the federal government is the first bullet point. Everything else is a state issue. So Trump is campaigning on unconstitutionally growing the federal government even more?

Reopen the mental institutions closed in the 1970s!

Return to the 1950s standards for the definition of Mental Illness!

In the 1950s, most mass murderers in the last 40 years would have been locked up in a padded cell in a mental hospital before they went on their rampage.
That is, until the governor of California (California Gov Edmund Brown) decided to start closing the hospitals down and dump the crazies onto the streets. (Yes, he was a Democrat)

A return to vagrancy laws would also help.

You can call my hatred of Trump “TDS” or whatever you’d like. Your opinion of me does not matter. When I expressed my preference for DeSantis I was attacked on this website. I have chosen to fight fire with fire. I may have TDS, but far too many people around here worship at the altar of Trump. I believe the former is better than the latter.

Just noting that you and the DC Swamp have the same opinion of Trump.

The first America First Presidential candidate after Swamp First R party of Bush, Dole Bush McCain Romney..

Your Swamp R party hasn’t been sending their best

MAGA voters and Deplorables recognize that.

You are certainly welcome to align with the enemies of Trump and MAGA and Deplorables.
Trump’s not alone, factor..

He’s just public enemy number one.
Number two public enemy is his supporters and voters..

Enjoy the campaign season!
