ST. SIMONS, Ga. — A large fire at a factory near St. Simons Island has led to Glynn County issuing a shelter-in-place order for parts of the island.
The Pinova plant in nearby Brunswick, Ga. caught fire Saturday and strong winds are reportedly pushing the smoke over the island.
Fire officials have not confirmed how the fire started.

Chinese sleeper cells have been activated.
The smoke is rising and dissipating. I think a “shelter in place” order is a bit extraneous. But the first priority is to CYA, I guess.
Certainly by government policy alone, since the 1960s, in earnest.
I’M A BEGINNING WOOD TURNER . . . I’M ALREADY STRETCHED FOR SUPPLIES/MONEY.
Toxic smoke coming your way
Shelter in place
and hold your breathe for a really long time

Failure on management’s part. After that kind of rainfall the track should of been inspected prior to use.
I am from Savannah and familiar with Brunswick, but, we also lived for several months out in the Morningstar Marina on the way to St. Simon’s and also for a couple of months (different years) in the Jekyll Marina.
We liked Jekyll better, but, due to it being a state park, and, us not owning a car, it was tricky getting groceries there. Good thing FedEx and UPS DO deliver to the island.
