Temperatures reached a global average of 69.98 Fahrenheit (21.1 degrees Celsius) in the first days of April. The previous record of 69.9 F (21 degrees C) was set in March 2016. Both are more than a degree higher than the global average between 1982 and 2011, which runs at around 68.72 F (20.4 C) in early spring...

The global AIR temperature has gone up about about 1 degree Celsius since global satellite AIR temperatures began in 1979, 44 years ago.
There have been many satellite AIR temp studies that show the global average temp has increased by 0.5 C to 1.5 C. since 1979. However, for the twenty years BEFORE 1979, we had global atmospheric COOLING of about 1 degree C.
I know for certain that we have thousands of floating-sinking devices that measure sea water temperatures and salinity.
Off the top of my head, I do not know the global average ocean temp for those devices.
Pure unadulterated crap.
In the totality of the existence of earth, this means absolutely nothing and we absolutely nothing to compare it to. That’s not even considering the extreme bias and of the gloBull warming cult that is making money off these “studies”. You’d think that leftists and atheists that claim the earth is billions of years old wouldn’t even consider this to mean anything at all.
So the warmest in 40 years? on a planet that is 13 BILLION years old.... the world is ending.
Yes, you are right. There are thousands of these temperature and position probes cycling in depth and position at any given day. This is how the “Missing Heat” problem was discovered, where something like 40% of the heat the oceans absorb goes missing. I have not heard of late whether the Oceanographers have discovered where the loss was occurring(?)
I call them buoys.
...now unsuppressed by La Niña — a natural ocean cycle of cold
surface temperatures in the eastern Pacific that had been ongoing
for three years, but which ended in March.
This is silly. Repeatedly, we've been told there is a particularly strong El Niño building for this summer, which bodes well for a below-average Atlantic hurricane season. These changes occur naturally and with predictability.
Where is the ‘Sure, Jan’! meme when it is needed?
Let’s say 51% of the ocean is warming at a rate of 0.02F per year while 49% is cooling at a rate of 0.018F per year. The trend will still be warming. The same is true if 99% is neither warming nor cooling, but 1% is abnormally rising in temp. Basically without context the average of temp of the ocean surface is meaningless.
Run in circles! Scream and shout!
“I know for certain that we have thousands of floating-sinking devices that measure sea water temperatures”
and they are accessible with data and video online-
I clicked on abt 20 and could not find this warming.
I do not know for certain but believe that I read at some point that given the 13yrs of no warming found-
that they started using the highly unreliable temp reports from ships in lieu of the bouys or did the never should be done and went backwards in tech to make it work.
I’m pretty sure temperatures of most outdoor surfaces have been incrementally increasing since the end of the last ice age. This is likely to continue until the advent of the next ice age.
If the oceans have got warmer, blame plate tectonics and vulcanism because air only has 1/4th the heat capacitance of water and 1/20th the thermal conductivity. The earth beneath it, OTOH, plays a YUGE role in the temperatures of the oceans.

Thank you for staying the obvious counterpoint. As a paleo climatologist, it irks me that these sensationalist think that the earth climate change started a hundred years ago. In fact, climate change has been a blessing for 4.9 billion years. I chose my profession as the ‘ice age’ was beginning, only to see it morph into global warming after the panic industry could no longer prove the cooling.
Why did Earth’s surface temperature stop rising in the past decade?
Pretty sure they changed methodology in response to that in order to find exactly what they wanted to find.
“Since this article was last updated, the slowdown in the rate of average global surface warming that took place from 1998–2012 (relative to the preceding 30 years) has unequivocally ended. Scientists have learned more about the physical factors that contributed to the short-term trend, and they have documented the continued build up in sub-surface ocean heat during the period. “
so they could add that given they could not possibly have been more wrong. Voila like magic the intellectually destitute roll on.
As usual with this nonsense, an oddly specific timeframe is chosen as a baseline. I would be very suspicious of any alleged results from such a “study.”
On the bright side, though, based upon their hyperventilating headline maybe we’ll be able to catch pre-boiled lobsters soon.
It’s all the hot air being blown up our butts by lying libtards
Again
