So Japan and dozens of countries are at war with Russia, and the Cold War is our longest-running war, and who were all the combatants in that war which you say is our longest-running war?

LIES!!!!

They are helping Ukraine in the war. Marines are charged with assisting Embassy security and they are more than capable to handle it.

See post 61 so that I can get that quote.

As far as the balloons I was just sharing what expert Col, Douglas Macgregor says, it isn’t my opinion.

You said Green Berets, not me. Special Ops forces could come from any if the four services depending on the mission. Why are you hung up on the Green Berets?

While the document included no further details about the service members’ exact location or the nature of their activities, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told Fox News on Wednesday that a “small US military presence” was located at the embassy in Kyiv to monitor military aid sent by Washington to help Ukraine fight off the Russian invasion.

You were talking about Green Berets whose official name is Special Forces, this article says Special Forces, everyone keeps talking about Special Forces, when in reality the documents say Special Operations, which means we don’t know who or what they are.

"We know that the US is providing real time intelligence to the Ukrainians to target Russian forces using our satellite imagery and signal info."

Good.

"Our Special Forces are operating and maintaining equipment to provide the Intel."

Doubtful, but the world doesn't need to know who is operating satellite or other communications equipment pertinent to the war in Ukraine.

"You are naive if you believe the US presence is just training Ukrainians."

That "US presence" isn't training Ukrainians on Ukrainian soil. That "US presence" has been here, in Germany and other countries along with instructors in those allied countries.

If even if that was happening, the Russians trained commies in North Korea and Vietnam right in those countries. The only reason I'm against our soldiers training Ukrainian soldiers on their own soil, is that there's no need to risk our soldiers to train them.

"My experience as a foreign service officer for 28 years and 8 years as a naval officer inform my opinions."

A Navy officer and former employee of the State Dept., USAID or whatever. You should know better than to do what you're doing here. Putin is not our friend and has repeatedly threatened to destroy us.

On matters involving foreign enemies, I'm loyal to the United States, whether the president is more like Biden or more like Nixon. Remember Hanoi Jane? Like the members of Code Pink, she would do her dirty deeds during any kind of executive administration.

"I just looked at those secret papers and they don’t say Special Forces are in Ukraine.

They say that 14 Special Operations forces are in Ukraine.

How did all this get turned into Green Berets?
"

Incompetent/unethical journalists and conspiracy theorists.

"Go try to blow that BS up someone else’s skirt. If my tax dollars are going towards a war then we are at war.

PERIOD.
"

If we cower before Putin's threats and allow his messed up army to take Ukraine, we'll be in a much bigger war too soon.

When we say Special Forces, we’re referring to soldiers wearing green berets.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Army_Special_Forces

That’s been long known among members of our military forces who worked with them. For example, we don’t refer to SEALs with that name.

We resurrected the Cold War by imposing sanctions on Russia meant to destroy their economy and currency. And we stated as the objectives of the proxy war was to weaken the Russian military and to remove Putin. The ICC has declared Putin as a war criminal. And who blew up the NordStream pipelines, an act of war? Our weapons and money are being used to kill Russians. This is why it is called a proxy war.

The sanctions placed on Russia are the most severe ever placed on a country by the US. What is the end game with Russia now? Are we hurting ourselves more with the sanctions than Russia? Are we isolating ourselves and fracturing our alliances? Turkey and Hungary, NATO members, are not abiding by the sanctions. Domestic anti-war movements are springing up in Europe. Germany and France are pushing for immediate negotiations to end the war. China and Russia are moving closer together. And the US is borrowing tens of billions to fund this war with no end in sight. Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries in the world and it is far from being a democracy.

The war in Ukraine has been going on since 2014 when the US/EU engineered a coup against the duly elected government of Ukraine. This sparked the first Russian invasion and annexation of Crimea and spawned the separatist movement in the Donbas in Eastern Ukraine. Victoria Nuland was a key actor in the 2014 coup and now she is back for revenge against Russia and Putin. Pushing for Ukraine to join NATO was a red line drawn by Russia. We are now reaping the consequences.

In the meantime our Southern border is still open with over 5 million illegal aliens crossing into our country in the past two years. Our national debt is almost $32 trillion with annual debt servicing costs of $500 billion. By 2028 debt servicing costs will exceed our defense budget. And to make matters worse, we have over $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities in the form of SS and Medicare. The Medicare Trust Fund is exhausted in 2028 and SS in 2034. By law, both programs will see a reduction in benefits not to exceed revenue. We are the world’s biggest debtor nation. When Adm Mike Mullen, Chairman of the JCS, was asked what the greatest threat was to our national security, he responded, “The National Debt.”

Now that we have debunked the Green Beret angle we know that those 14 people could be all kinds of different things, from boat operators to aviation people, military intelligence, civil affairs, specialists in communication and psyops, technicians, and trainers, who knows.

These lies may well get us into a really big shooting war that not even Trump could stop. Frankly, I don’t think our woke, politically correct generals and admirals could lead our guys to victory. Using our military for social experiments isn’t a good idea when you face an equal foe, from an industrial nation. When we lose battles and men, will they stop lying? No, they will double down. or close down the media to prevent failures from getting to the people. Future headline: “US withdraws to Juno as Russo-Chinese advance in Alaska.” Story: “After inflicting terrible losses on the enemy human wave assaults, the US has pulled back to consolidate supply lines before a major offensive to retake Fairbanks. Enemy is about to crack, cut off from supplies, with staggering low moral, Reports of many Chinese freezing to death in the snow—Alaska will be retaken by next summer by our heroic American/Canadian forces. Now for news on the bombing in Seattle... “

I served a year in-country in Vietnam 1967-68, including during Tet, and another 8 months off the coast 1966-67. Yes, the Soviet Union and the PRC were actively supporting North Vietnam including sending weapons, advisers, flying combat aircraft, and manning anti-aircraft batteries.

We paid them back in Afghanistan by supporting the opposition, mostly Afghans and other Islamic volunteers, most notably Osama bin Laden. The blowback was 9/11 and our 20 year involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq. Iran provided weapons and funding to the opposition. I was in Riyadh and Dhahran during Operation Desert Shield/Storm.

In retrospect, I have doubts about the degree to which we were involved in these conflicts. Were the costs in blood and treasure worth it? We now know that our leaders lied to us about many things. The Domino Theory, the justification for Vietnam, turned out to be a crock. Mission creep in Afghanistan was a clear mistake. Is Iraq better off today? Did Jimmy Carter’s human rights policies and his greasing the skids for the removal of the Shah sow the seeds for militant Islamic fundamentalism? We are living with the consequences today.

Given its historical, cultural, and linguistic ties to Ukraine along with a 1,500 mile border, Russia cannot afford to lose in Ukraine. For example, any serious attempt to take Crimea would be viewed as an attack against Russia itself. Escalation, including tactical nuclear weapons is a distinct possibility. We have no treaty obligations to defend Ukraine. We really don’t have the money to arm and rebuild Ukraine. What is the end game? Russia doesn’t have the conventional military forces to invade and occupy Europe, which has a total population and GDP equal to the US. Why are we footing the lion’s share of the costs?

As someone who has put his life and limb on the line a number of times on behalf of this country, it is an insult to question my loyalty. Just because I don’t support our involvement in this proxy war, doesn’t mean I defend Putin’s actions. He is a former KGB thug. My sole interest is what is best for the US.

There are other Special Forces than the Green Berets. You are missing the trees for the forest with your pedantism.

No, you are confusing Special Operations units with names of their own, with Special Forces, which is the official name of one of those Special Operations units.

I can’t understand how you can’t learn the name of the Green Berets, did you think they were really named a hat?

Do you think when a Special Forces soldier and an Airborne Ranger soldier meet, the Ranger says Special Forces? me to!

The U.S. Army’s 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta, popularly known as Delta Force, is the first of the two counter-terrorism, special mission units that fall under the Joint Special Operations Command

Note that Delta Force has Special Forces in its name.
