Florida's Republican Governor Ron DeSantis has signed a bill banning most abortions after six weeks, paving the way for drastic changes in access to the procedure across the state.
Opponents argue six weeks is before many women know they are pregnant.

Yet Trump has blamed extreme anti-abortion politicians for the GOP's poor midterm performance, even though many of these politicians such as Masters, Mastriano, and Dixon were his hand-picked choices.
Funny though, he might not be wrong. I think it's clear that Dobbs hurt us and DeSantis, should he run, will have to find a way to defend this in a country where legal first-term abortion is widely supported.
Yep. Criticizing DeSantis for not signing a 100% ban (something Trump himself would never support). And they know this, so they're hypocrites.
I suspect the majority of the country isn’t necessarily opposed to abortion, however, they’re thinking somewhere in line with this bill , very early on in the pregnancy. However, I suspect that attitude would change if you told people that the left once abortion basically up until the due date, for any reason, no questions asked.
I wish you weren’t right but this obsession of preventing Liberals from killing off the next generation of Liberals is going to cost us and the country.

Or do you think he should rule by fiat, writing his own legislation to sign himself?
This post is a classic example of perfection being the enemy of good.
Your approach, which would've been to not sign this bill and wait months, years, decades for a total ban bill to "save lives" to come to fruition. That would've cost cost hundreds of thousands or even millions of lives, while waiting.
Your strategy and argument are flawed. HORRIBLY.
I'm a 100% Trump Supporter. I give Gov. DeSantis and the Florida Legislature props for this step that will SAVE LIVES. Onto the next battle and save even more.
That's the right way.
Dobbs energized Gen-Z and single women, numerically tens of millions of voters who are now almost solidly Democrat. Not only did they discover that voting is really easy, but that they enjoyed doing it!
And not only do they overwhelmingly support legal abortion, but they support gun control, and economy-crushing climate change laws as well. They're on the side of pretty much every leftist social battle.
And they also enthusiastically support the Democrats seating four more justices on the Supreme Court to remove any roadblocks from getting their way.
