According to Monday's assessment from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), members of the Wagner Group have reportedly committed war crimes in the battle for the eastern Ukrainian city, according to videos posted by Russian social media users "purportedly showing the remains of a head belonging to a Ukrainian serviceman on a spike at an unspecified area in Bakhmut." "Social media users recalled similar instances of skulls mounted on spikes in Popasna, Luhansk Oblast, where Wagner troops operated over spring-summer of 2022," the assessment read.

First, Ukraine actually even took back territory in Bakhmut just a day ago, and Russia has officially run out of time to take wht they’ve been fighting for for the past 6 months as Ukraine’s offensive is about to begin.
Secondly, Wagner is notorious for these types of execution videos, beginning in Syria where they did it to a civilian for no good reason, smashing him with a sledge hammer on his fingers, hands and feet, before cutting off his head with a knife.
Contrary to what the pathetic FR Putinists brigades state, this is very much a Russian phenomena. No other nation state, other than probably the Chinese to their prisoners like the Uyghers, engage in this style of mass torture and murder.
Stuff like this usually results in combatants fighting even harder because they know no one is taking prisoners.
The Ukrainians have used civilians as human shields, shelled a nuclear power plant and targeted civilians in Donetsk.
