I just got my 2010 Ford truck out of the shop. 310,000 miles.
There were a lot of older vehicles there.

You've planned and implemented well. Solar isn't a great option in southeast Idaho. I have 3 inches of fresh snow on my property this morning. My house came with a wood burning stove in the fireplace insert and great insulation. A single wood log can effectively warm the whole house. I have a pair of generators that have tri-fuel capability (gasoline, propane, natural gas). We just had 157 consecutive days under 50F with many subzero in that time frame. 4 days above 60F starting the day before Easter, then snow again.

We have two F150 pickups for 4 wheeled transport. When the streets are clear of snow/ice, I have 9 motorcycles for local transport. The two biggest V-twins are capable of long distance if necessary on premium fuel. I have a couple that could do long distance on regular gas as well. For local transport, the two single cylinder bikes can go 55 to 66 miles per gallon on regular fuel. In a pinch, there are bicycles. If we get to that "pinch", the stores will be out of business.
