HULL, I.A. (Dakota News Now) - Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) announced Wednesday that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will be the guest of honor at Feenstra’s third annual picnic in May.

The event is set for Saturday, May 13, in Sioux Center, Iowa.

”I’m excited to announce that Governor Ron DeSantis will headline my Feenstra Family Picnic this year in Sioux Center,” said Rep. Feenstra.

“While liberal states shut down their economies, forced businesses to close, and kept our kids out of the classroom, Governor DeSantis championed freedom and common sense. Florida — like Iowa — are clear examples of what strong conservative leadership can deliver for our country. I look forward to welcoming Governor DeSantis to Iowa and showcasing our conservative values and rural way of life.”

”I’m excited to headline the third annual Feenstra Family Picnic. In Iowa, like Florida, freedom is valued, parents’ rights are protected, and faith comes first,” said Gov. DeSantis.

Fact check on that Florida freedom BS:

As usual, Ben doesn’t realize that Trump left the governors in charge of the states- which is why DeSantis closed his beaches, forced quarantines, locked down businesses and arrested pastors for holding church and Kristi Noem didn’t lock down at all. https://t.co/2xImsKIBmY— NN (@NnPnemck) September 6, 2022

What is this? A family reunion?

Kind of weird. Especially way out of state.

It’s Iowa and he’s obviously trying to run for president.

I support Trump, but nearly everybody got blindsided on the COVID thing. Prett sad when the Swedes do the best job of getting the freedom thing right.

Noem, DeSantis and even Kemp have their bright spots on their response compared to ther governors. But none were perfect, and all (included Trump) were given scads of bad and "urgent" information to "act now", just as any Nigerian scammer would have you do.

I'll give DeSantis and Trump passes for their goofs, and Trump would be best served shutting up about Operation Warp Speed. Those weren't the researchers we were looking for.

Every four years politicians get chummy with the Farmers. Elizabeth Warren eating 🌽 corn is my favorite image.
