Actually some of the establishment Republicans have spoken out against Bragg, including Jeb Bush and Romney. Which are then interpreted as being insincere by many here. DeSantis spoke out and was attacked for not saying something a day or two earlier.
You don't disagree with the core premise of this article, that Trump will lose next year. I guess if Trump runs in 2028 after losing next year you'd vote for him again in the 2028 primary and then in 2032 etc. until he quits.
Right now Drew68 is having seizures over what you wrote, but I’m chuckling and agreeing.
DeSantis would have 2 years to, get a nod as a member of the Trump cabinet. Possibly AG, maybe SecDef or SecState. He’d have quite the resume.
Nope…..he’d rather be a puppet to Rove, Bush, Griffin, Shapiro, Lincoln Project, Erickson, Goldberg, etc etc…..all folks that, at this point, talk a good game but never enter it themselves. The Bushes, obviously, but one will go down in history for two wars and 1000s of lives ruined. The other, with the largest campaign account ever, got crushed into obscurity.
Take you GOPe talking points and shove them up your < expletive deleted >.
Yes there is - the author calls Republicans who mention it “election deniers” - meaning he doesn’t believe the fraud made any difference in the outcome.
As long as we can blame it on ‘fraud’ we don’t have to do any actual thinking or talking about what we need to do differently.
It’s like more than one company that went to Chapter 7 while blaming the customers for being stupid and the competitors for ‘cheating’.
We have to be able to win with 100% turnout, by developing policies and organization that gets people to the polls... or let’s just hoist the hammer and sickle now
Romney was another disaster that the GOP establishment decided to force down the base’s throat.
Since you believe everything was rigged in 2022, what do you believe Trump will do against Biden next year?
Remind me who handpicked her and continues to back her to this day ??
Bingo! Well said SamAdams76...
McCormick Would've likely won.
*Somebody* inside Delaware changed her state tax records to fake a lien on her condominium mortgage, which was used in negative campaign ads to claim that she can't manage her own personal finances. O'Donnell said that wasn't true and doesn't know why her tax records had a lien.
She lost the election, and then the lien was mysteriously removed from her tax records. Chuck Grassley vowed to get to the bottom of it, and then never acted on that promise.

...good answer SA76, and the lasereyeball forgets that the Bushies made Christine out to be a kook with the help of Pudge Rove and they starved her with not a dime, and then said “oh look she was a bad candidate”...sounds like the same uniparty playbook from last year.
Hard to disagree with these points.
I think you’re cherry picking. The GOP lost control of the MN and MI legislatures last year. The GOP rolled up big margins in House races that were basically uncontested (or were literally uncontested in some cases) unlike the swing House districts.
Anyway, you don’t contest the core claim of this article, i.e. Trump is doomed against Biden next year.
I absolutely do contest it. The Axios article cherry picks.
I'm not having seizures. There isn't going to be a Trump cabinet that DeSantis could have even been a part of because Trump is going to be soundly defeated in 2024.
DeSantis? Hell, he'd probably lose as well. Haley? Jeb? Losers.
All you people crying about election fraud are missing the biggest point of all: Republicans have lost the demographic battle. There are now simply too many Democrats to beat. Democrats have a lock on all the minorities, college-educated whites, and single women of all colors. These numbers are only growing.
No Republican president will ever again win the popular vote. Even the Electoral vote is becoming increasingly out of reach. On the morning of Election Day, the Democrats start off with, at a minimum, 257 EVs already in their pocket. The Republicans, a mere 102 (and 40 of these EVs belong to Texas which the GOP is winning by smaller and smaller margins each election).
I support DeSantis because I can do so without being a hypocrite and because he's the most conservative candidate with the best shot at winning, even is that shot is at best, 30-40%.
Trump is a loser. He is not a conservative. His candidacy will be a catastrophe in 2024. But he'll probably win the GOP nomination so it is what it is. So when the Democrats sweep 2024 and then put 4 more justices on the Supreme Court (because there are thirteen appellate courts, so the argument goes) don't blame me.
And yes, if Trump earns the nomination, I will vote for him. It will be an exercise in futility, as much as my votes for Romney, McCain, and Dole were.
You haven’t gotten the memo? We’re nominating Trump again in 2024 and conceding a second term to Joe Biden. That’s the plan and always has been.
Republicans have lost the demographic battle. There are now simply too many Democrats to beat.
You’re spot on about the EV votes. Something most folks don’t seem to understand.
However, I’d challenge the Demographic battle thing. Sadly, too many RINOs...because they’re the only ones that can win...have been elected and let so much of this happen. But, if what you’re saying it right, that doesn’t explain how a state like Wisconsin has a Republican majority in the legislature. Then again, describing something as a Republican Majority and that majority actually doing what they told the voters they would do is something completely different.
Thank you, Drew. You speak for me and many others. More Rs need to take the blinders off and face reality, which doesn’t mean giving up but stop deluding themselves and do what they can imo.
