The Tennessee House of Representatives has voted to expel two young black Democrat members of the state legislature, a week after they joined a protest against gun laws, bringing a bullhorn onto the House floor amid a noisy demonstration.
Justin Jones and Justin Pearson, both 27, were joined in their protest on March 31 by Gloria Johnson, 60, a veteran member of the legislature, who is white.
Jones and Pearson were voted out of the House on Thursday: Johnson was not.
Asked why she avoided expulsion, Johnson - the only white person among the three - said it 'might have to do with the color of my skin.'
Until Thursday, only two people had been expelled from the Tennessee state legislature since the Civil War.
Joe Biden called the vote 'shocking, undemocratic, and without precedent'.
He tweeted: 'Three kids and three officials gunned down in yet another mass shooting.
'And what are GOP officials focused on?
'Punishing lawmakers who joined thousands of peaceful protesters calling for action.
'It's shocking, undemocratic, and without precedent.'
Jones said after the vote that it showed Tennessee was 'on a path toward authoritarianism', and his lawyers were analyzing whether the expulsion vote was legal.
'This should sound the alarm across the nation, that we are entering some very dangerous territory,' he said.

But I notice almost all the MSM Headlines say something like “Republicans Expel Two Blacks”
So they expel the two blacks and not the white.
Oh, that’s good optics. /s
The Stupid Party Strikes Again!

Forget the optics, double down, and fight back. Leading protesters into the chamber with a bullhorn is a reasonable ground for removal. If Republicans are always retreating due to optics, they’re going to lose the war.
Point being all 3 should have been expelled.
All three should have been expelled - bullhorns were just part of the greater protest lawlessness and chaos.
one more vote and she would have been
I saw that, too!
Part of it could have been because she’s “a veteran lawmaker”. But yes, stupid, even she is quoted as saying when asked, “maybe it’s the color of my skin”. thereby strengthening the argument for the possible “racism” of the other side. I didn’t see any lengthy start to finish, but it looked like the two (or three) were doing exactly what woke college “students” have been doing for years when someone like Ann Coulter, David Horowitz or Ben Shapiro shows up to speak, after being formally invited.
“66 votes were required for removal.”
But 60-30 is a 2/3 vote of those voting, and they got 65.
Per the Constitution, Congress can do the same. A real Congress would have booted Adam Schiff, Feinstein and Eric Swalwell.
On the radio this morning the host was talking about the expulsions. The female brought in her attorney who argued that because she didn’t use the bullhorn she should not be expelled. That convinced a few Republicans to not vote for her expulsion. She then immediately went to CNN and suggested that she got of because she was white. B###h!
Then they should bring her forth for another vote to demonstrate to her that they are not racists, if that is what she has now decided is the issue.
I believe that going on television and calling your fellow representatives “racists”is grounds for expulsion.
There must have been a few abstentions. Sixty-six is 2/3 of 99, so that must have been their quorum.
I read in a You Tube comment that the three disrupters voted against funding to private schools for security.
Anyone know if that can be documented?
If true:

well, you know...
Al “The Bullhorn” Sharpton Jr. and his sidekick, the Mod Squad “black guy” wannabe. They both need their asses thrown out and throw the fat lady out too so she can sing for them.
Same crime. One got prison time and the other got a visit from the Vice President of the United States.
God bless Tennessee!
