Tennessee lawmakers on Thursday voted to expel at least one Democratic state representative over his participation in a gun control demonstration during which a trio of Democrats interrupted the floor session and used a bullhorn to lead supporters outside in chants.
The chamber voted to oust state Rep. Justin Jones of Nashville, who disrupted the proceedings alongside Reps. Gloria Johnson and Justin Pearson of Knoxville and Memphis, respectively.
Jones was expelled in a 72-25 vote. Lawmakers needed 66 to remove him, according to the Tennessean. Before his ouster, Jones warned that such a move would backfire on Republicans,
"Your overreaction, your flexing of false power has awakened a generation of people who will let you know that your time is up," he said.
Last week the trio reached the podium of the House floor in violation of chamber rules and encouraged demonstrators seeking gun control reforms in the wake of a mass shooting in which a transgender individual killed three children and three faculty members at a Christian school in the state.

Well, he's now been stripped of any legislative power, has been reverted to a citizen of the state and will have to run again to regain it.
Now this is how you stop that non sense..BRAVO!!!!
I saw what he did; it was an insurrection.
Both sides can play that little game.
All crazed libtards should be expelled.
What about the other two?
Lock him up for a couple of years without trial just to reach him a lesson
About time some damned democrat had consequences for their crimes! I love Tennessee!
Two more scum sucking liberal POS to go.
There are so many definitions of “insurrection” these days, isn’t there?
Up next:
And this dude:
It’s time that Republicans started playing rough against these anarchists for a change. They need to get even tougher.
Agree! I was afraid nothing would happen after it was said they’d be voted out. It’s time for us to give it right back!
It’s about time that the notion of no repercussions for your actions was squashed.
Now let’s see who’s next that will toss out the trash.
I am concerned that this will backfire. I know a couple of people from TN and they are NOT happy about this occurrence. It’s being played as Republicans are throwing out Democrats who stand with kids.
Would a censure and stripping of committees or something have been less of a lightning rod?
“And this dude:”
LOL
So what happens when a representative in Tennessee is expelled? Is he still a rep without committee assignments? Is his seat open?
She’s toast.
They literally lead an insurrection at the TN legislature. They deserved exactly what they received.
They were already stripped of committees.
Was he the one with the megaphone on the House floor who was using it to encourage more demonstrations in the gallery? Well deserved if it was him.
