Ann Coulter: You’re Being Played, Republicans
Breitbart ^ | 5 Apr 2023 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 04/06/2023 7:52:25 AM PDT by SoConPubbie

A few years ago, I posted this riddle on Twitter:

What’s easier to roll than an Easter egg?

Answer: Donald Trump.

Now, I can add:

What’s easier to roll than Donald Trump?

Answer: Republican voters.

Democrats are playing Republicans like a fiddle. The left’s sole objective is to make Trump the Republicans’ 2024 presidential nominee. He’s already lost three election cycles for the GOP — why not make it four?

A month ago, things were looking bad for the Democrats.

Immediately after Trump announced for president last November, he may as well have gone into the witness protection program. Even Fox News cut away from his announcement speech. He had to have dinner with a noted Hitler enthusiast to get any attention, and, when he spoke at CPAC in February, the room was half-empty.

Looming before them was the threat from Florida: Gov. Ron DeSantis. He was beating Trump in the presidential polls without even announcing. He’d scored victory after victory against Democrats and won his reelection bid — in a purple state! — by 20 points, despite attacks from Trump.

Against DeSantis’ smarts and energy, the Democrats would be running President Senile Dementia and a vice president whose sole credentials are that she is black and a woman.

They had only one hope: Get Trump the nomination. Liberals: HE’S A DANGER TO THE NATION! NEVER HAVE WE FACED SUCH PERIL! Now let’s do everything we can to make sure he gets the nomination.

And that’s why Democrats indicted Trump on absurd charges this week, with the media covering the event like it was the capture of Osama Bin Laden. Today, the party mandarins are sitting around laughing as Republicans trip over themselves to defend Trump.

Ann’s analysis is saying what top dems are saying.

trump’s indictment seal his nomination and makes it near impossible to win in the general.

this is not a far fetched theory. dems have won election cycles in 2018, 2020, and 2022.

Why are they wrong? (I agree that things are going to get much worse by the time we get to 2024. But that worsening of conditions didn’t change things for republicans in 2022 when trump was not on the ballot.)

Ann, bless her heart, has a poor record in choosing Republican nominees for President. I recall that she was a fan of Christie and Romney. Also, she was all over Trump for not doing enough on the border, as though that was his only concern, or someone else would have done better. She has her own Trump derangement syndrome that I cannot understand.

As far as this being a Democrat plot to advance Trump, I am highly skeptical. Remember, Al Gore wanted Ronald Reagan to be the nominee as “he would be easy to beat.”

Because the media painted the picture that the worst was over. Prices were started to drop, or at least that was the perception, and overall things were starting to get better, so the 'Gloom and Doom' wasn't there anymore.

“why is he going to get clobbered?”

Because Democrats have perfected the steal. A lot of FReepers fail to remember this.

Trump’s chances depend where things are in 2024.

If the economy is really in the crapper to the point where even the media can no longer cover it up, I think Trump would win, provided he makes a few changes in his approach.

DeSantis is deep state and a piece of garbage. The more I hear from him the less I like him

If true, that's because Trump is the only candidate who will be publicly opposed by prominent Republican political figures.

No. He loses because he fails to draw any support aside from his base of fanatical worshippers, for whom Trump has become a cult-like figure.

I read years ago that the reason Al Gore "won" the popular vote in 2000 was because California quit counting votes after it was mathematically impossible for Bush to win the state with the uncounted votes -- even though the uncounted were heavily Republican areas.

I guess that's practical from an electoral college standpoint. But it doesn't help us with arguing over who wins the meaningless popular vote.

There are many reasons for Trump Derangement Syndrome. Perhaps I understand one of the more benign reasons.

I think there is a conflict of styles. Most politicians have the style of academics or radicals. President Trump has the style of a successful businessman. Academics favor a process that appears to flow from a textbook where all answers are already known but details must be worked out. Radicals just try to work up the crowd to violence.

A really successful businessman listens to everyone, considers every possible move, says one thing or another in his process. Ultimately, he acts. The meetings and words mean nothing, they were merely a necessary prelude. The choice of direction and the action taken is all that counts.

President Trump made good decision and took correct actions on behalf of America and Americans. The meandering process leading up to making America great again may look insane to the people who judge words rather than results.

Right, and probable. Coulter supported— ROMNEY the greaseball used car mormon salesman who LOST 3 elections, and Christie the Orca from Cape May,NJ who never made it through primaries.

So, she turns to the McCain to be, in between dates with Bill Maher. Strange person, and mostly wrong.

His "base of fanatical worshippers" appears to be 75+ million strong.

He is very popular among Americans who despise politicians -- which is an enormous (and likely growing) cohort.

I remember seeing silly posts like that here on FR after the 2000 election. It's simply not true. A state like California would have to count all of the ballots even if it's just to determine the winners of close local elections.

What happened in 2000 (and in every election) is that states may declare the winner of a presidential election when the gap in the vote totals between the leading candidate and the second-place candidate exceeds the number of uncounted ballots remaining. That doesn't mean they don't count the remaining ballots -- it just means they don't wait to count all of them before declaring the winner.

One might add that the dems ran a genuine clown Guillam, a Marxist Tallahassee mayor with homo predilections caught in a Miami hotel room with a male homo “servicer” multiple drugs and paraphenalia and used condoms strewn about— buck naked with the pitcher. And it was still close in all reality such is the nature of that machine. DeSantis fought and won... and he needs to continue to make America pay attention to FL and become more like it. In that sense he is a real powerbroker against serious rino backlash. An unfortunate choice for JEB! and company who have nothing to offer themselves.

Dude, really .... you look at the rallies and say he only draws a few fanatical worshippers? Are you blind? I think it’s because most Americans know he is the ONLY one who will fight the Crazies.... ymmv

Is there any Republican candidate from 2016 who would have gotten 75 million votes in 2020? I don't think so.

Let's remember that Ann Coulter's previous endorsements in presidential elections have include an effete loser (Mitt Romney) and a blowhard who probably couldn't win 75 electoral votes (Chris Christie).
