That's what I hear.
I would quit working.
“Reparations” for what?
Slavery ended 150 years ago.
Slavery was almost an entirely private matter.
If a slave ran off, private rewards and bounties were offered and paid.
What’s happening is that the corporations are getting on board, because they’ll reap the benefits from it.
Chappelle nailed it.

I sold all my slaves yeas ago.
Swell. That will localize all of the blacks on welfare to the Democrat-run urban areas.
Then we can build walls around them and meter traffic in and out.
Oh, please, yes. Do this during a recession. (unavoidable and on the threshold)
I can just see all the unemployed non-black races begging to donate (tax) their meager 26week benefits to those who were never enslaved.
Black voters - 13%
Non-Black voters - 87%
Non-Black tax payers - 92%
Honestly, if this reparations scam happens, it might just be the law straw that finally breaks the camel-back of this country. Only (some) black people themselves and woke white idiots favor handing big piles of cash to black people as a sort of anti-racism tithe. Outside of a handful of old families in places like Virginia and South Carolina, I doubt any significant amount of non-black generational wealth is derived from slavery. Why should the other 99.9% of non-black people pony up? It’s absurd, and there will be strong backlash against it when it comes. And in places like California (partly due to Gruesome Newsom’s attempt to nail down the black vote for his presidential primary ambitions), it appears to be gaining traction.
Most of these cities, it’ll be “rich” that they demand “reparations” for a demographic that already runs the city - and overwhelms it. They won’t have enough whites to mug.
BTW, when are people going to coalesce and fight this crap? That is what they are doing - mugging whites who never owned any slaves to pay off blacks who never were slaves.
This is total obnoxious travesty of justice.
What if there was an organization that was instrumental in supporting slavery before the Civil War and was in fighting against equal rights for former slaves after the Civil War? What if most slave owners were members of that organization? What if that organization is still around today?
Surely that organization should be the first to pay reparations, right?
Pay up democrats.
If these dumbass mayors want to pay freeloaders ‘reparations’, they can do it with their own money. They shouldn’t be sitting around doing drugs and trying to come up with a plan on how to get the U.S. taxpayers to pay for THEIR goofy wet dreams. I never owned slaves and they never picked cotton. Sounds like we’re even.
Ok fine. Pay the “reparations”. Give them $5MM each. Watch as in five years all that money is in the hands of a few businessmen who know how to play the game. The same ones who were poor at the start will be poor at the end and it will be as if reparations were never paid. If anyone things paying reparations will resolve or put an end to anything, particularly grumbling by lazy blacks, they are only fooling themselves. Nothing will ever be enough.
Pay up. I needs me some new Air Jordans.
If anything blacks should be paying back white Americans for bringing them to a real country instead of ending up in Africa with a bone in their nose running away from lions
Cannot wait until I get reparations for being a American Indian.
Try that reparations bs in Miami. The Hispanic government and Hispanic civic leaders will laugh you out of town. Only stupid whites fall for this guilt-tripping.
My people got here 1904 or so. So don’t charge me for any crappy reparations. As Cassius Clay said — “I’m so glad that grand daddy got on that boat”. Blacks never had it so good, or better, than in America.

Cassius Clay, who later changed his name to Muhammad Ali, said this quote in reference to his grandfather who was a slave and was brought to America on a slave ship. The quote is often used to show how far African Americans have come since slavery times1.
The founders were lazy and should have picked their own cotton.
