Liberals gain control of the Wisconsin Supreme Court for the first time in 15 years

Janet Protasiewicz’s over conservative Dan Kelly will allow the court's new liberal majority to determine the future of key issues like abortion rights.

Janet Protasiewicz, a judge on the Milwaukee County Circuit Court, has won a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, NBC News projects, giving liberals their first majority on the state’s highest court in 15 years.

Protasiewicz defeated conservative Dan Kelly, a former state Supreme Court justice, on Tuesday in what became the most expensive state Supreme Court race in U.S. history and one of the most closely watched elections of 2023.

Protasiewicz’s victory will allow the court’s new liberal majority to determine the future of several pivotal issues the bench is likely to decide in the coming years, including abortion rights, the state’s gerrymandered legislative maps and election administration — including, possibly, the outcome of the 2024 presidential race in the battleground state.

With 85% of the expected vote counted, Protasiewicz had the support of 55% percent of voters, while Kelly had 45% percent.

Conservative-leaning justices hold a 4-3 majority on the court. Protasiewicz will fill the seat being vacated by retiring conservative Justice Patience Roggensack, giving liberals the majority for the first time since 2008. Protasiewicz was elected to a 10-year term.

The cheeseheads are going to regret doing this. Elections have consequences. They’re going to find out the hard way.

It all comes down to dollars.

The Dem politicians do what their contributors want done so the bucks roll in.

Republican politicians compromise away the wishes of their contributors, so the contributions dry up.

I won’t contribute to a party that stabs me in the back. Will you? It’s really that simple.

McCain, McConnell, Romney, Cornyn and the rest of the turncoats have turned it into a party with no direction that is beholden to the Deep State.

Wisconsin, like Michigan, is now gone for good.

votes are rigged.....I don't believe in any of these votes....

because if I did then the people of Wisconsin are pure idiots and the old saying "the American people deserve what they want and they're going to get it good and hard" applies.

Yup. There will be less than zero ballot integrity in 2024. And Wisconsin will shortly be Californicated so that the Republicans will never control the state again and no Republican will ever win a Presidential election again. Same will happen in AZ and eventually GA. You might as well get your hammer and sickle flags ready now.

Today it was reported that demand for U.S. passports are at an "unprecedented level of demand," with 4-6 month delays common now.

I think a lot of Boomers and Gex X'ers who can afford to may finally have had enough, and are seeking greener pastures before this whole franchise goes South.

Nope. Not the White women. They are 100% brainwashed by the ABORTION mantra, this year on steroids after the fall of Roe v. Wade. Even though most of them will never need one, and Plan B pills are cheap and readily available, they are willing to elect actual COMMUNISTS in service to their cult of abortion.

Dims have mastered the steal in all elections. Conservatives are disalusioned and won’t fight back.

Not for the future. Trump and the stupid/cowardly gop ruined that for us.

All I can say is: Prepare.

Republicans don’t stand a chance om future elections, Wi. and Chicago results prove that. Dems have control over elections results of voting machines unless we go to the paper ballot with picture ID.

Reflective of how much of the country is turning, sad to say. Any motion that America’s political orientation is center-right is laughable. Gen-Z voters are turning this county on a hard-left trajectory.

Not quite enough is it?

That’s what I see everywhere. “Conservative” support is bloated but in actual elections, it is much weaker or non existent.
While I believe elections are stolen by by fraud, I also see a decline in actual support for conservative positions. The red wave was barely a ripple. Inflation, incompetence, lies and criminality did not matter as dems held on and flipped seats.
It isn’t all fraud...we are losing.
