lol Russia can not win, period.
Even if they somehow Russia wins this part of the war, they would eventually loose the gorilla part that would follow.
You can’t win a war against a determined local population under current rules of war.

What local population? The country is being depopulated at an alarming rate.
Scorched earth, meatgrinder warfare, waged by Russia in Ukraine (which the US didn’t wage in Iraq), is meant to stop unending guerilla wars, which the US kept facing in Iraq. Notice that Maritupol has never had an uprising since it was taken by Russia?

Given the brutality of Russians, I doubt it will be a problem

Large portions of the 'determined local population' had to become refugees and leave to surrounding nations when Russia flattened the power grid, thereby elminating water, heat, light, supplies. Citizens were permitted to leave contested regions which then became battlegrounds. There are holdouts but they struggle to live - men fleeing to bomb shelters in Russian attacks were being forcibly conscripted into the Ukrainian army, so that now many families remaining hunker in their houses rather than seeking shelter from shelling.
So many able bodied men have been taken to the fighting, and dying there, that there just isn't a significant 'determined local population' left to make any sort of stand. The Ukraine cannot win - period.
The regions that Russia is claiming (re-claiming) are largely in sympathy with Russia and, like Crimea, are enthusiastic about rejoining Russia or becoming free nations in good fellowship with Russia.
