A select panel of Vermont citizens has appointed three radical Vermonters to serve on the state's new Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
Last year, the state legislature voted to approve the creation of the commission, which is intended to address "instances of discrimination and harm caused by State laws and/or policies to specific marginalized communities in Vermont," especially those who were affected by a 1931 state law that legalized forced sterilization. In 2021, the state issued a formal apology for that law, which disproportionately affected "Indigenous people, French Canadians, mixed-race people, people with disabilities and low-income families," according to the VT Digger.
Republican Governor Phil Scott signed the bill into law last May, and many cheered that the TRC would go beyond apology for past wrongs toward proactive reparation. However, Sen. Joe Benning (R-Caledonia) warned that "this is a commission that could very well get out of control in a hurry, based on politics."
The biographies of the three individuals appointed to serve on the TRC suggest that Benning and others of like mind may be right. From the pool of applicants, the panel selected Mia Schultz, a California transplant who has spent the last two and a half years at the helm of a local NAACP chapter; Melody Mackin, a member of the Abenaki tribe who champions the rights of "plant nations"; and Patrick Standen, a disabilities studies philosopher who fantasizes about a global AI takeover.
Schultz spent much of her life in California but moved to Vermont in 2015. There, she quickly involved herself with the Rutland-area chapter of the NAACP. In December 2020, she was announced as the chapter's new president, a position that allowed her to continue her leftist activism.
On her LinkedIn profile, Schultz describes herself as a "Community Organizer, Advocate, Activist and Humanitarian..."

Well, at least all those babies that Vermont is aborting now won’t have any descendants to ask for money in 100 years.
How much more Orwellian can it get?
But legalized abortion is A-OK.
... as is “gender-affirming care,” which sterilizes misguided, confused, people.
I’ve got my Trump 2024 flag flying high on my flagpole.
“Being in a minority, even in a minority of one, did not make you mad. There was truth and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad.”
― George Orwell, 1984
Welp, you Vermonters are going get California- level reparations bills to pay - so far “disadvantaged” blacks who were “harmed by slavery” or discrimination are asking for $7 million each, a yearly salary of $97,000, no strings attached and homes for $1.
80k a year. what a scam
The rule of opposites:
“Truth and reconciliation”
means
Lies and Hate.
In the last days, man Will prefer a lie over the truth
This kind of thing will eventually push us into Civil War.
If we don’t stand up now to defend our society, we will have to fight for it later.
Three angry narcissists. We lived in Vermont in the early seventies. My husband is a University of Vt grad. At that time, there were more cows in the state than people and the native Vermonters couldn’t wait to graduate to get out of the state because there were no jobs that paid anything. Teachers made about $6,000 per year and nursing about the same because they were the only jobs available.
Now these flatlanders come in and want to blame Vermonters for racism against people who didn’t want to live in VT in the first place. Maybe they should blame the cows.
I love this. The commie progressives have been complaining that Vt is too white.<
Now they get some POCs and wonder why so many of them are getting arrested.
Now Vermonters are told they are racist. What a joke.
In the article they discriminated against French Canadians also. Therefore I’m going to move to Vt and demand reparations. je me souviens.
It was the hippies and ski bums, who took over the state politics because, like I said, there was nothing else to do to make a living. The hippies mostly came from wealthy families, who could afford to pay their kids college tuition and ski vacations. Most of the Vermonters didn’t ski, at least not down hill, just cross country. The only poor people, who lived in VT were hard working White families. So, the hippies started importing them by offering gay marriage. That’s when all the women started letting their hair grow long because people thought that only lesbians wore their hair short. Then they started importing what they called “African Lost Boys”. The regular Vermonters felt displaced, yet they still voted Democrat.
There is way too much idle wealth in this country. It’s a big factor in all the bad stuff we see happening.
Some of it isn’t exactly “idle rich’. some of it is younger people who make high salaries in the tech industry or medical sales, some in the fringes of the entertainment or sports industries. Young couples are making unimaginable amounts. …and I am not referring to the ones that do nothing . The ones that I am talking about in Vermont were lazy, spoiled kids, whose fathers worked hard for their money, and whose kids never learned a work ethic.
