James Olson, the spy agency's former chief of counterintelligence, said he believes the sharks are now circling for the tyrant back home in Russia.
Olson said that Putin is now in a "no win" situation - with the war either devolving into a grinding statelemate, or ending with Vlad's death.
He said if Putin stays in power he will never give up the war - and so the way to end it is for Vlad to be killed or ousted.
Olson, who served for over 30 years in the CIA and won medals for his service, explained that things don't look good for Putin - with either his oligarch pals, his military, or even his people set to turn on him.
"If Putin stays in power, there will be a long war because he will not give up - but I do not think that Putin is going to stay in power. I believe that he will be removed from power.
"I believe that there is a strong undercurrent of opposition to Putin in the military, in the intelligence services, among the oligarchs."
Putin is known to live in fear of an uprising or internal coup - allegedly being obsessed with the toppling and subsequent killing of Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.
Olson went on: "Putin is destroying Russia. I believe there are some good Russians, some patriotic Russians who will decide enough is enough.
"I think Putin will be taken out. I would not rule out assasination.
"I think it is actually likely that some patriotic Russians will decide they need to eliminate Putin.
"And that would be the end of the war. Because the Russian people are suffering and they are losing people. Putin is bleeding Russia and he cannot do that forever."

you forgot the Barf Alert. I totally hate that little SBO.
I certainly hope that Mr Olson is correct.
He’s obviously hoping someone will shoot Putin from behind a grassy knoll or something.
This is their channel.... I will look around. Thanks.

“James Olson, a 30 year CIA cold war and war on terror veteran can not figure out the goings on in Moscow?”
***********************************************
Do you actually think an ex-CIA chief is going to go against the establishment narrative and tell the truth? LOL.
The guy behind him will be worse. Besides, this is a pipe dream that seems to make the circuit every second month or so.
Every person’s fear should be a death like Quaddaffi’s.
Biden and the stupid Dems and our stupid media have ragged on MBS for 4 years. Ever since MBS offed that fatass “journalist” who was allied with Saudi fundamentalists. They insulted MBS daily. Also going on about homophobia in Saudi and other Arab nations.
This is a large part of the reason that Saudi Arabia is aligning with Putin and his Bric schemes.
“Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown”
The Saudis are hardly the only ones aligning themselves with the “BRIC scheme”. Almost everyone outside the West prefers that arrangement. Even Japan is now ignoring the sanctions against Russia and buying their oil. Honduras has closed down Taiwan’s embassy and no longer recognizes them as being independent. There’s only 14 nations left that still recognizes Taiwan’s independence try and guess which ones. Open your eyes a NEW World Order is now shaping up whether you chose to recognize it or not. All you do is post CIA/deep state propaganda. Nobody but an ignorant fool takes the stuff you post seriously.
i just went through the whole channel. Couldn’t find it. I’m sure it’ll pop up and I will forward it to you.
On a side note...if anyone else is reading this comment, feel free to watch a few of the videos/shorts, some will just make you shake your head and you’ll see video proof of why this country is in the toilet.
Ironic when it is us that didn’t want them selling their gas nor oil to Europe and likely blew up the pipeline delivering the gas.
So what ever happened to all those stories of the Russian Ruble imploding?
But in the meantime, enjoy your rising gas prices at the pump.
Hint, Russia is part of OPEC+.
I’m anti-Putin and pro-Ukraine but this sort of talk from a former official should not be tolerated. He appears (rightly or wrongly) to be speaking with authority on US policy. This statement therefore extremely dangerous and this guy should be called out for it.

Since you are so certain of this outcome, then move there. Move to Russia, China or one of your lovely BRIC nations. But you will not. You are identical to a Third World immigrant who gets here legally. Then one year later, is spouting off publically about US imperialism and US colonialism.
If I move anywhere it certainly won’t be Russia or China. Thailand or the Philippines perhaps assuming the dollar hasn’t collapsed by then.
“Putin is a wimp. He will be replaced by a real Khrushchev type.”
Interesting comment, given that the PTB in Moscow thought KRUSHCHEV was a wimp.
Remember, the GRU was the competent intelligence agency in the USSR, not the KGB.
I doubt Pooty will be replaced by a tranny but I’d be happy if he were replaced by someone who simply wants to make Russia into a decent and prosperous country.
As opposed to stealing or destroying someone else’s decent and prosperous country.
Which brings up an old joke:
An American, a Mexican, an Englishman, and a Russian survive an airplane crash and wash up on a deserted island.
One day the group finds a bottle, opens it, and POOF!! out pops a genie!
The Genie says to the four men, “For saving me from the bottle I will grant each of you one wish!”
The American says, “I wish for a luxury yacht we can use to get home!”
POOF! A yacht magically appears.
The Mexican says, “I wish for a nice hacienda in Cabo where I can have my new friends come to visit!”
The genie assures him it is so.
The Englishman says, “I wish for Queen Elizabeth the Second to come back and rule England!”
The genie assures him it is so.
The Russian says, “Screw them! I wish they had none of it!”
Putin’s removal from office is one of those 50-50 things like Biden lasting to end of term, you can predict it either way but there’s probably no real evidence even for insiders of the CIA, just vague indications. I would only cheer for it if I thought the next guy would return to a more co-operative stand, last thing we need is for some berserker to replace Putin and double down.
And no I am not a fan of globalism. I see the “fight against globalism” as an excuse Putin uses for his bad behavior, to try to rustle up support in some parts of public opinion which he then supposes might weaken NATO. If he is so concerned about globalism, why doesn’t he attack NATO directly? Because he would end up with his country destroyed. Ukraine is not strong enough to threaten Russia, but is apparently strong enough to defend itself. That’s where Putin miscalculated, I’m sure he thought this would all be over in six weeks and a puppet government installed in Kyiv.
Update on Russian military operations in Ukraine for April 3, 2023:
-Russian forces continue encirclement of Bakhmut and Avdeevka;
- Western media continues to measure Russia's strategy of attrition by territorial gains;
- Over the past month there has been an uptick in Russian precision airstrikes along the line of contact;
- Reports indicate that one of the munitions used is the GLONASS-guided UPAB-1500B glide bomb with a range of 40-50km;
- The UPAB-1500B is released out of range of most of Ukraine's mobile force protection air defense systems, most of Ukraine's S-300s are either destroyed or deployed far behind the line of contact opening an opportunity for the glide bomb's use;
- Further degradation of Ukraine's air defenses will lead to Russian military aviation becoming a more decisive factor;
