Worthless degree offerings.
Punky brainwashed school system graduates ready for more woke indoctrination.
High cost for low chance of a good life economically.
Arrogant faculty and administrators who suppress fee inquiry and free speech.
Destruction of that system couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of scumbags.*
*With the exception of Hillsdale College. Only.

Back in the 1980s, Penn State was a mid-sized school with a name and reputation that exceeded its size — due to its football program. It was a favorite school for New Jersey high school graduates who wanted to go away to college but still wanted to be close enough to get home in a few hours.
Now, the main campus in State College is a behemoth with 45,000-50,000 students. It never needed to get that large at all.

“make up the missing funding through tuition increases”
Sob...the market speaks with declining enrollment. Maybe the universities should try matching their supply to demand instead of whining to Harrisburg and threatening to come with hat in hand for more handouts? Just REDUCE COSTS! Maybe sell some buildings. Maybe close an entire school or two. Start by firing all the totally useless and expensive DEI administrators and execs.

Let’s see.....what would a company have to do? Hold on, I know the answer to this.
Oh yeah, they would double the price of their goods.

Point the finger at Joe Paterno-my hero. Same as Pete Rose. Why do these ‘great’ guys have to disappoint us so much at the worst time? We are not as forgiving. Rose will not be in the HOF. PSU should have let Paterno go before he became an institution calling his own shots. We are our own worst enemy.

College costs have been increasing at more than twice the rate of inflation for over 20 years.

You could do what I used to do on the school board. “Come back to us with 10% cuts across the board then we’ll talk”. That’s what the legislature should do.

How about firing 1/2 of all administrators?Or 90% of all administrators. Elon Musk did it at Twitter.

Old taxpayers are dying, and their progeny moved to better places. I bet you have some Conservatives moving to red states like Florida. And Pennsylvania is not attracting enough immigrants.

WVU(West Virginia University) was the same way, invaded by Jersey girls.

Oh yeah, they would double the price of their goods. They will continue to do that. Young males are saying "f that" so more of them are going to trade schools. Now the universities are around 60% female. And they're woke. The men are not. Our birthrates continue to drop.
