Maher: ‘We Have Too Much Socialism
Breitbart ^ | 04/01/2023 | IAN HANCHETT

Posted on 04/01/2023 8:55:16 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher argued that while the U.S. has “been quasi-socialist” for the last century-and-a-half, all advanced democracies are quasi-socialist, and the U.S. has been more socialist in the past than it is today, “we have too much socialism,” and he knows that we have too much socialism because he lives in California.

During an interview with New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) where Sununu referenced the “socialist agenda” on the left, Maher said, “America has always been quasi-socialist — or at least for the last century-and-a-half. Social Security is socialism. The Marine Corps is socialism. Every advanced democracy is quasi-socialist.”

Sununu then asked, “Are you saying that where we were in America 30 years ago is where we are today?” Maher responded that he isn’t saying that, but added, “Well, in the ’50s, the tax rate went up to 70%. Sometimes, even 90. So, we actually were more socialist then” even under some Republican presidents.

Liberals like him live in a world without consequences.

They are emotion driven creatures who refuse to acknowledge any harmful or deleterious effects of their crazy ideas.

You are correct — they have been allowed to live in a fantasy land due in large part to the earlier success of the capitalistic based system we once had. That comfortable and secure lifestyle is now fading away. And he knows it.

Bill is the guy that hands the matches to his friends who set flame to the bag of dog-crap on your front porch, then wants to rat his friends out for doing it.

The COVID debacle was definitely a turning point for him. He never had a problem with oppressive, authoritarian leftist government in the past. But in 2021-22 he suddenly found himself faced with an oppressive, authoritarian leftist government forcing HIM to do things he didn’t like.

It is going to get a lot worse.

***********

Without a doubt. Enjoy what’s left of the “good times”.

There’s no political will to do what needs to be done to fix the mess we’re in.

But he still defends it.

He’s been very conflicted (confused?) lately.

Yup. This smirking little Leftist s**t, who for years played court jester for the Left thinks there’s ‘’too much socialism?’. Well Billy Boy, how much socialism is enough?

He LOVED spinning conservatives up, especially during Trump’s time in office while his audience of clapping monkeys roared with laughter.

Now he realizes that maybe he went too far?

Screw you Maher. You own this.

Didn’t the ancient Greeks have Marines?

Yet that was thousands of years before the French created socialism.

Lots if Libs think any sort of cooperative endeavor by people, that require a social arrangement, is Socialism. Its like that nonsense that roads, train systems, power grid etc are all only possible by socialism. One could argue the USA achieved world power before socialism of any sort (income tax wasnt even ratified until 1913).

Yes, quasi-socialist!

The govt is the largest: employer, consumer, lender, borrower, landlord and tenant in the nation.

In addition govt union pension funds are among the largest holders of “privately” held stock

and the govt has armies of regulators, libraries of regulations-

all resulting in massive control over the means of production.

Yeah quasi socialist like Biden is quasi senile.

Bill Maher is very intelligent. He has shown himself to be somewhat intellectually honest lately.
He kinda knows the truth, but he hates it.

Well, he’s right. The U.S. has been quasi-socialist for a long time.

Most Republicans like socialism, too.

Public school? That was a Marxist idea.

And Republicans screamed to open those schools again.

IOW, he's NOT saying that we've got too much.

Every goverment "department" is designed BY special-interests for handouts & regulatory protections.

Add subsidies to the end of their names, for accuracy:

Dept. of Agriculture Subsidies

Dept. of Transportation Subsidies

Dept. of Labor [Union] Subsidies

Dept. of Education Subsidies

Dept. of Energy Subsidies

etc.
