THAT FORCES HIM TO APPEAR BEFORE HOUSE COMMITTEE
Sounds like it
Took 3 communists to write this AP bile?
I think double jeopardy means being tried twice for the same alleged crime. Trump has never been tried for what’s supposed to be in the indictment. In fact think the only time he has ever been “tried” was when the senate voted not to remove him from office twice, including once when he was not in office! Apparently senate “trials” are not real trials in the context of double jeopardy.
If the defendant is tried and a verdict is rendered, no retry. A mistrial, for example a hung jury, can be retried. It depends on what you mean by “charges were already rejected.” In the Stormy Daniels case, the feds did not put Trump on trial. The fact that they thought about it does not count for double jeopardy.
Statute of limitations has run out, even on an alleged felony charge of fraud.
Bragg will propose a preposterous excuse why limitations don’t apply.
And no doubt, the Judge will agree. Somebody on a news article thread responded to the "statute of limitations" issue I mentioned, by saying that the time limit on the statute of limitations was suspended when Trump was in office.
They were saying he might request it be changed to Staten Island which is an oasis in the blue cesspool of NY as it is partially red, but the chances of that happening are nil. He will be tried no different from any Stalinist show trial. They don’t care anymore because they know Republicans will do nothing.
ECO X:
You mean he is trying to tie his indictment to Federal Law? I would argue the NYC DA has No jurisdiction to try to make a claim that Trump violated Federal Law. That is the responsibility of the US DOJ. That would be an overreach.
And where did that $860,000 come from? And what about the huge legal fee the Clintons incurred but never paid? Did they pay income tax of the “gift” of those fees?
I agree but we will have to wait and see what the actual indictment is. The rumor or leak is the payoff violated some sort of campaign finance law.
