Given that the Soviet Union didn’t fall for 6 years after Reagan was out of office, and that Reagan was pretty quite after leaving office, I think it’s the latter.

How old are you?   Those of us who lived through President Reagan's success know that he was exactly the cause of the fall of the Soviet Union.   I was privy to a TS briefing at the time that told us the Soviets were done for, with all of the particulars, and it all came to pass.

I'll never forget my Uncle the Colonel coming to visit Grandma's wearing one of those Soviet Army Ushanka hats with the fur and the Red Star on it.   He told me, this lowly Staff Sergeant, that it was his trophy for our victory over the Soviets, and he had just come back from West Berlin where they were selling them on the streets.   It was a known fact before anything had fallen that we won!   That was 1980.

Go spread your leftist revisionism somewhere else.

Well your Kremlin masters would be proud of you, if only you had not waited almost 2 months to reply.

I was privy to a TS briefing at the time that told us the Soviets were done for, with all of the particulars, and it all came to pass.

What an uplifting briefing that must have been.

My dad served 28 years as a Navy recon pilot, keeping an eye on the Soviets. He and his squadron would fly missions out of Okinawa, surveilling various Russian sites. They also flew out of points in Alaska like Adak and Kodiak.

When we were stationed in Naples, Italy, they would sometimes fly out from Aviano or Sigonella looking for Soviet subs. They spotted one once and called in the forces to have it escorted out of those waters.

Dad was elated when the USSR came tumbling down (as were we all.)

He didn’t tell me much about that until I was an adult and working in a war zone.

Trump respected Putin as the leader he is and the left went nutso accusing Trump of “collusion”. Trump did this while not allowing Putin to make aggressive actions. Biden, or his handlers, and the media constantly denigrate Putin which pisses him off and makes him more likely to be unstable.

I preferred the peace during Trump’s years rather than the threat of nuclear war that Biden has our nation facing.
